is all old hold atm..

shes broken again

was pulling onto a round about.. and heard a bang, and then scrubbing, thought it was exhaust had fallen off, but i coasted her into a car park and looks like something to do with gear box. it runs, it revs, it will roll, but you cant get power to the wheels :( looks like a crank shafty thing that goes from passenger side wheel to gear box has disconected and is dragging on the floor :(

daddy is with her now waiting for aa man

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Re: Tinas new name

oh another thing... with engine on.. i can change gear without the clutch :chin: so might be a little more than just that bit thats fell off lol

i cant help but laugh... cos if i dont ill cry! ive only had her back 3 days!

Re: Tinas new name

Pah, using the clutch for gearchanges is for wimps!

On a more serious note, you can change without the clutch, try it on any car (y) Don't force it, just let the synchros match rpms and it'll slip in. Obviously using the clutch is the better way to do it:p

I think it's a boy too I'm afraid!

Re: Tinas new name

AA man has said drive shaft has come off gearbox end. he also said hes never seen that happen before... he then asked if we had work done on gearbox recently.. we said yeah, previous owner replaced it.. Aa man said they must have not put it together properly :(

Re: Tinas new name

I didnt replace the gearbox. I got a garage to do it.

TBH this doesnt suprise me. Now you know why I decided to sell it rather than fix it as a knew something else would break  ... Didnt u read the part where I said it had been off the road 3 times within like the month I owned it

Cant think what would cause the driveshaft to pop out... usualy u have to dismantle the whole hub to get it to move. Could be CV joint as dave said, but I wouldnt blame it on the gearbox. Drove and ran fine. if it is the gbox then blame Dan :p He gave it me :D

Re: Tinas new name

lol

im determined to get some fun out of this car! shes been great between getting her back on monday and last night!

just remembered my dad is going to scotland to get my sister to bring her down here for xmas on saturday, so god knows when im gonna get her back on the road.

annoying that its so close to xmas, and my local garage has had a little oil problem.. like.. they got flooded by waste oil :(

id go scrappy myself.. but ive no idea what im looking for and how to go about it.. and and and.. would i need to get bits off a 1.2 or are they models interchangable with that kinda stuff

Re: Tinas new name

lmao how the fook uve done that ill never know. I cant work out how you could have popped the drive shaft... uve got to unbolt all the suspension and manover the hub to get the shaft to pop out... its not comething that can be done whilst the wheels are on

Looking at the photo though... Is the rear gearbox mount still in one piece? if its broke then the engine will be hanging free which, with enough movement (which im not sure is possible) and the wheels at the right angle, might pop the shaft...
