its quite simple to put the drive shaft back in... but obviously it might just pop out again. As said by just about everyone, its basically impossible for it to just pop out like that lmao...
take the wheel off, unbolt the shock from the hub (2 bolts) then manover the hub so that u can lift the drive shaft back up and pop it back into its cup. then bolt everything back up and get a metal cable tie or similar to secure back on the CV boot (before you do though, make sure uve put new grease on as it looks like urs has splattered everywhere) and ur done.
TBH I just cant see how it could have popped out in the first place... Have you checked to see if the rear gearbox mount is still attatched? If its failed then its possible that there would have been enough play with the engine rocking back an forth on acceleration for it to have popped the shaft. Esspecially if You had been turning at the time (which you were, being on a round about).
Saying that though, i drove the same car home 8miles through lots of twisty staffordshire lanes with the mount buggered, engine hanging freely and didnt have that problem. I replaced the mount bolt though as the mount itself was fine, just the bolt had either snapped or come off from not being tightened properly in the past. I never found it
im gonna be getting up super early tomorrow and take car to peices and see if i cant fix it myself. gotta be early cos if turns out i need to get new bits.. it'll be a trip out to get bits and then try and get them on before it gets dark
It's pretty easy but you gonna be needing some hlp though, i suggest you try loosening the centre bolt theat holds the drive shaft before jacking up the car and before taking off the wheel.
you dont need to touch the centre bolt. You can attatch and detach drive shafts at the Gbox end on the bravo 1.2 16v without completly removing the shaft from the car.
Simply unbolt the hub from the bottom of the shocks so the brake assembly is hanging free and then turn it all the way to the left or right and all the way up/down. at this point the shaft is pulled as far away from the gbox as it can when attatched to the hub. Its far enough to simply place back into its cup and then bolt everything back up
but if she is going to be replacing the shaft then she will need to take it off the hub in which cas it will be better to do it whilst the car is on th floor.
