Hi....I am thinking of fitting an Green induction kit, mainly to get rid of the clutter of the standard air system as well as to improve the sound. They list 2 kits, one for cars with airflow meter (pre 2000) and one without (post 2000). my car is 1999 but on removing the standard filter I have not had to remove the airflow meter so I am assuming that I want the later (cheaper!) kit. Can anyone advise how I can tell and what to look for. I would also assume that I will need to fit a cold air supply to feed the filter. Has anyone got any advice on this subject

Cheers Steve

Take a look at the air intakes and you will see the difference.

FYI I have the green airfilter intake system on my B. If I was going to do this mod again, I would go for the CDA induction kit.

Why would I go with the CDA induction kit over the green air intake system I hear you ask. Well because The green filter does not come with a cold air intake, so it sucks up a lot of hot air from the engine bay. The B has a small engine bay so can get hot real fast. I have fitted a cold air intake and put copper heat tape around the manifold and water pipes to help keep the temp down in the bay.

Spend a little more now I say. I will change mine at some point in the future and fit the CDA air system.

But thats just me.

Hi....thanks for that....yes mine is definately the later style as per the bottom picture and the good news is that this is the cheaper kit. How have you got on with your kit and do you find that your strut brace has made any difference. Sorry for 20 questions but I am a relatively new owner and enthusiastic about the car and its great to get some advice!

Thanks again Steve

I'd say a gsr kit (think the hgt kit fits), proven 9.8bhp gains and coupled with a full supersprint exhaust and remap 160bhp.

Thanks for the responses folks.....

The favourite is currently the CDA kit. I have not heard of the GSR kit Dan. Any idea where I can find more details? Has anyone else got any further comments on the Green Kit? Its only advantages seem to me to be its price and I think it looks very tidy in the engine bay.

Cheers Steve

Hello,

I have a 1997 Barchetta and was thinking of fitting an induction kit.

I note the photographs posted by docorangepeel showing the 2 types of air intakes, thereby lies my problem.
I appear to have a combination of the two systems fitted, in that the layout is as the later version but with the blow by pipe fitted over the middle section of the intake.

Can anyone help out here

Regards,

Phil

I have never seen this style fitted to a B before. The aution does say barchetta, so I guess so. I do like the look of it and its nice to have something thats not been seen in the UK before. (y)

Only thing to find out is do you have to drill the fixings. If this is the case, I would go for one of the others that we all know works well. Unless you dont mind a bit of drilling work.

Let us know if you go for it ?
