I've dismanteled 1999 front brakes (with the bigger pads ) to have them powdercoated.
They are nice grey now, and rust free. Also slider pins, and all rubbers I have new.

I'm going to assemble them but now I see there are 2 types of slider pens. one is round other is a bit slotted.

Does anyone have an brake assemble spread sheet or tutorial.
How do the big springs go over etc.

would be a great thing to have these sorted

Hey Olivier,

Couldn't find anything with regard to overhaul or assembly of the front callipers in the official Fiat Barchetta workshop manual(n).
Took a picture of my front calliper (Bendix) in the hope it helps you at least with the spring position ;).
Only important thing to say about the slider pins is: make sure they have no burrs and grease them sufficiently with appropriate grease (ceramic or silicon grease).
Only thing I can say is that I have seen slider pins in round as well as the slotted versions (normally the slotted versions are made in such way that they fit in a specific position).

Question: I wanted to powder coat my callipers front and rear as well – black or anthracite (incl. the brackets).
Can you give me a clue what the cost was :worship:?
I will sandblast them before I bring them to the coater.

Hope this is of some help and good luck (y)!

Frank

At last !

Hi Thanks
You can find pictures of my powdercoated parts right here

All these parts were together €90

Hey Olivier,

That's a steal  and I must say I like the shade grey you used (not to eye-catching).
Question though: how did they do the wiper arm (was it disassembled) I assumed it would "melt" together the lower part to the upper part?
I had in mind to have mine coated as well but was always afraid for this effect.

Well big question for me too when I brought it over.
The wiper arms were like all the parts first sand blasted.
He powdercoated them in the ok position. The oter part that's exposed when you open it doesn't have a coating.I can already see small rust from the side right now, so they have to be redone.
But they do open quite well, but over time the coat will crack.

If you do spark plug cover, make sure you grind and sand all imperfections out , sand blast it and powder coat it. you won't be dissapointed

I did the spark cover already in wrinkle red powder coat paint (left only the "Barchetta" wording intact, filed/rasped the rest away).
Like the Ferrari's
