General Another Damaged B

Approached my director this morning asked him how his bumper was damaged he says he knew nothing about it showed him mine and in his arrogant way could not explain damage to his , but because i am an honest employee he told me to get a couple of qoutes. Fiat main dealer want £1270, and a coach builder i found by chance want £1220 inc a few extras i requested . Bill my director was not expecting these quotes so its is now going through company ins, he has contacted his to say he has accepted responsibility whether he was driving it or not,his words were its just circumstatial and i have phoned my ins today and it looks as if it will now be repaired by there approved repairer, just have to wait and see what happens next, thanks guys for your coments and support and i will keep posted

Oh Ricky.....what a bummer!!:eek: I have seen how well you polish and look after your b so this must be gut wrenching for you. Atleast the boss is accepting the blame but it is really scarey that you park your car safely and some **** can do it damage without so much as a thought! Get it sorted soon. I too am sh*t scared at the number of damaged b's showing up on the forum of late. Am I next? Paul Santoni's car is off for repair after some old boy pulled out on him at a roundabout. Perhaps we should all put our cars safely in the garage till next month?

Ricky, good news that the boss did not do the 'was not me, sod off you little man' routine on you! Just goes to show that he would have happily pleaded ignorance to the damage and not mentioned it unless you had pointed it out to him.

While the b is being repaired you may want to spend a little time polishing up your CV!! :D

ricky what is happening up here it beggars belief. Sorry to hear about your b mate, if your quote was 1220 I hate to hear what mine will be when I get it assessed on sat. Good to hear your boss will at least put it thru his insurance.

Mop your furrowed brow fella, she will be as good as new before you know it!!

Front bumper is near £400 (needs replaced as cracked), front wing £200 (needs replaced as too difficult to panel beat the old one) then clips, ancilliarys, paint, laquer currently near on £200 a lt, labour etc so sounds about right.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I've had so many mates come back to find "bites" out of their cars from supermarkets, etc if I park in a space that looks tight, i text myself the registrations parked next to me...no, I don't have OCD.

Hehe it reminds of this thread on another website - someone wants to know why he comes back from his shopping to find loads of cars parked around his at the supermarket, even though he tried to find as much open space as possible to avoid other drivers' sloppy parking. Turns out some people only like parking next to other cars to use them as reference points to guide them (!) or like to tuck their cars in the middle of groups of cars as a "safety in numbers" thing in case there's a thief prowling about (!!).

I just try and stick my car as far away as possible from the supermarket. Rather an extra 30 second walk than some idiot with a 4x4 nudging my bumper.

Try this, park over the parking space white line so your car sits almost in the middle of two spaces. The only time I dont do this with my B is when the carpark is full. People want to park inside the white lines so that stops the next car from getting that close.

Hi Doc i dont know what my options will be going through company ins , Debadge is on the list , want my wheelarches done , spoke to someone already about this he wants to sandblast them then coat the lip with somesort of liquid rubber then spray over it with paint he thinks they chip to easy because of bigger wheels and the car has been lowered but not sure if an approved ins repairer would approve of this
