Coronavirus - The Thread :(

Up here we get a notification, so don't arrange/apply for appointments. Being in the over 70 group we think it'll be a while yet before we are called. Definitely both going to get it. Wondering if there'll be a reaction to the second jag?

Surprised you haven’t been asked for your second vaccine Jock. Up here we are not so populated, so probably that makes a difference. According to my daughter who is a senior charge nurse, the second vaccine made her tired and lethargic for a few days, this seems to the way for most. I think she had the Oxford one. I’m having the Pfizer. I will report back to give my report on my second jag. :)

Funny as everyone i have spoke to who have had the same jab were fine. There only gripe was the pain where the needle went in yet i never had that. Anyway day two (Today) Up at 7am and working by 9 thinking what was all the fuss about. Yesterday i could do nothing and today refreshed and raring to go

My partner had hers a week before me. Arm painful for a couple of days, otherwise no effect at all.
I had mine on 28th Jan. Late next day got funny headache, and felt lethargic, although being a lazy git, just meant I couldn't do much, rather than not bothering to do much. Funny head lasted 12 hours or so, right as rain next day.
Pain in the arm at injection site was tender for a week. The muscle (what little there is) has objected, and hurts when I twist my arm behind me, so there's one spot on my back is now difficult to wash. Hopefully this won't get worse after the second jab.

fed up with trying to get one closer so booked mine for Monday, its 'only' 62 miles away ! (so much for everything will be within 10 miles)
going to Westpoint near Exeter.

its all lies. This is nothing more that a bad flu season. total deaths from all causes is just a little higher than usual (government statistics) and this is probably due to the lockdowns and effectively the closure of the health system and suspension of preventative treatments. The actions of the governents are causing more deaths.

It is the mother of all cons and the restictions have nothing to do with any virus but are to do with restricting personal freedoms and covering up the impending financial crash and the imposition of a ubi. (if you don't know what that is then it is time you did the research)

I would question why you have not been called to have yours yet as my 70 year old customers have been getting it.

Hello GPz Are you talking first or second Jags here? We both had our first ones 5 weeks ago now but no communication yet about when the second one might be administered.

PS North Berwick? Many happy hours spent in the freezing cold waters of the pool on the sea shore with the concrete wall round it. Now introducing grandchildren to the delights!

I used to swim in cold outdoor pools many years ago. Get this Jock, as a gang of 16 year old teenagers, we swam in Aberdeen beach at midnight commando. It was a dare, both lads and lassies, happy, happy times.

Ah sorry i must have miss read your post. Thought you were waiting for your first invitation.

BTW i am from Edinburgh and only remember being in the the NB pool and the Portobello one once as a small child in the late 60's. The was also a paddling pool and trampolines at Port Seton at the time. All are long gone but as i cant swim i cant say i miss them :D

I suppose thats one good thing with the NHS website, you book both first and second Jabs at the same time, my second one is on the 1st June

I’ve just had my vaccination this evening, I live in Austria and our region is meant to be a hot spot for the SA variant, so they EU has made us a research zone, all 50,000 inhabitants will be vaccinated this weekend. All went very smooth and quick. We also got a free pot of Jam as we left - don’t ask why :)

Testing here is very slick, drive through centre. PCR test done in less than 30 seconds, drive away and you get an SMS 3 hours later with the result. We need a negative result in order for us to leave our region

Makes me think of that episode of Friends where Joey's got a busted arm and is eating jam out of the jar

Nice :)

So no symptoms after the jab, just a rather sore arm

Just had the jam on toast for breakfast - very tasty it was too
