Hello everybody I bought a 500l a few weeks ago and it has stop/start fitted but has not worked since ownership. Anyway turns out the previous owner fitted a standard battery not a stop/start one. I bought a new stop/start battery yesterday £124? tried car this morning still not kicked in does the car have to be at a certain temperature my commute to work is only 7 miles will it not work on such a short journey. Anything else I should know I have never had stop/start car before so I'm sorry if I'm talking sh£-e.

Fiat's s/s is a fickle beast, it'll either work perfectly, not at all, or completely at random. IMO it's a gimmick anyway and completely useless for day-to-day driving.
Stops oil flowing to turbo, A/C doesn't work properly, takes longer to set off while the engine restarts....
