Hi, I have a 2015 500l Mpw pop star with the upgraded digital air con system. A couple of days ago, I turned the heating up for the first time in months (I'm in Scotland, don't judge me). For some reason, it will only blow heat on the passenger side in all settings. The manual fails to mention fuses so does anyone have any suggestions? I got it in January so it has a dealer warranty which I'm assuming covers it but if it's a quick.fuse....

We had similar with ours. The cabin got v hot with hot air regardless of setting being blown out. A few trips to the dealer and the could not find a thing wrong with it. The AC is working fine they said and no faults. It seems to be ok now but wait until winter hits and I'll see.

Hi Stuball, I have exactly the same problem as yourself at the moment, tried heating for first time in months (live in Scotland too) and heat only on passenger side. Did you notice outside temperature gauge giving inaccurate readings.??
I would take it to the garage asap if it still has warranty on it as Fiat dealership have given me an estimate of £700 +.

Hi again, noticed your post was 3 weeks old, did you get the problem resolved?
Cheers, Davie

It seemed to resolve itself and working just fine now. Temperature gauge has been fine too

Hello Stuball, strangely enough mine has just started working again today as well - this is after dealer quoting me £700+ for a repair & car is booked into garage in two weeks to carry this out! Think I'll keep an eye on it and cancel if it works fine over the next week.
Thanks for your help.
Davie

Just a quick update - heater is still working fine after 5 months, don't know if it was a computer glitch or not but as Stuball advised try the AC in every setting and give it a week or so, don't go straight to the dealer unless car is still under warranty. I assume Stuball's heating is still working fine as well. Thanks Stuball - saved me £700!! ?

The 500 has a problem where the auto-climate has a plastic spindle that operates the vents and that can break, jamming the vent in whichever position it happened to be in at the time.

It may be worth having a rummage under the dash and sticking a dollop of grease or WD40 on any moving spindles, cogs or wires and then giving the system an exercise every few weeks if you haven't been using the extreme settings, just to give the parts a chance to move through their whole arc of operation, to prevent any sticking/seizing.
