Hi all.
I am waiting for delivery of my new 500S convertible 105hp Twinair. I ordered it on 28 march and have heard it has been built and is awaiting shipping. Any ideas when I should get it?
The dealer is being helpful but can't give a firm date.
How long is normal?

How long is a piece of string. It could be next week, it could be 6 weeks. As unhelpful as it is it'll be there when it gets there

I'm in Australia and have been waiting since last August, I'd say your wait will be shorter than mine.
You might even get yours first!
?

Surely the distance from Poland doesn't change so the only variable has to be the frequency of shipping????? How are they transported - I assume rail then ship? How could it possibly take six weeks?

Let's say 2 weeks to get to uk and another week for customs/registration delivery.
I guess 3 weeks! Let me know how wrong i am when u get the car haha

As i said, how long is a piece of string. The car could sit in Bristol for weeks waiting for a transporter. Mine was in Bristol for about 2 or 3 weeks. No one can give you an honest answer, i realise how frustrating that must be but that is the way it is.

Good luck in Australia. I can see it taking a bit longer to get to you but eight months??????

It's a loooong story, been told the car should hit our sunny shores in about a month ... Will happily announce it's arrival on the Forum.

Just realised I ordered it on 28 February not March! Nearly 6 weeks already. I know it has been built but do not know when I will get it. As you say, incredibly frustrating!!!!!

6 weeks is nothing, as an average i would say that you're looking at at least 8-10 weeks on average as a minimum. 6 weeks to get to this point is not slow.

When I opted for the Alpha on the 12th March this year, it had just been offloaded at Bristol.Bearing in mind March is a busy time re the transportation of cars (New plate Reg's), Eddie Stobart, who do a lot of the Transporting for the Fiat Group, had been on strike for 2 weeks. It took just over 2 weeks for the car to get to the dealership.

So would imagine by now things will be stabilising.

Sometimes busyness can work in your favour, my 500 was sat at Bristol docks for ages because they needed to fill up a transporter rather than carring a half full load. Oh and i meant to say above that it was a week or two, not 3 weeks.

It is quicker for a human to make a baby! I wonder what else could be made in that time?????????

I think one reason for my long delay is that the original delivery was scheduled for early Feb. Late Jan I was told it will now be May. I'd say my order may have been stuffed up- the car was not actually ordered, or the wrong car may have arrived. Fingers crossed for May!?

Ten days on and still no idea of delivery date. Haven't even heard if it has been shipped yet!
Seven weeks so far and it's really not going to be here next week. Still hoping it's here for Auto Italia.

Good luck hope it does arrive in time. As they say, hope for the best but expect the worst. From what I can see, UK owners seem to waiting about 12 weeks. May not even be built yet....
