I have a feeling that I've seen the answer to this somewhere, but my search skills seem to have let me down this time...

What are the stages between somebody placing an order for a new Fiat 500 (not Abarth) and it being received?

I understand that obviously it has to be built in a factory (which I understand is in Poland), and then at some point "shipped" to the UK. But I was wondering what else happens to it, and by who, such as who gives it a number plate, etc?
