If you're deep in mechanics you could do the job on that engine...I think you'll have to remove the head and then check all the valves for damaged ones|)...and don't forget the pistons, too;)!Don't know the exact prices for those parts,but I advice to do this job only if the whole car is in good conditions...if not I think it's better to dismantle and sell it for pieces[^]!
 
Option 2:

find a crashed/scrapped one and buy the engine* - it'll probably be cheaper than the cost of the parts for the rebuild.
You could do the timing belt before you fit it...

* or the whole car if you have the room, and sell the surplus parts.
 
timing belt snapped on my tipo. valves dropped bent and snapped then went up and down with the piston a few times and smashed the hole thing up including a hole in the piston.
if the head is fine just get it skimmed and get new gasket, of the pistons r ok then just change the head and gasket, not a hard job atall, as my head gasket just went recently
