hey what kind of alloys would go with a yellow stilo? ive been looking but i cant seem find the perfect ones. any opinions, pictures would also be good! thanks

Keep the standards coat them black and lower the car. That is my personal opinion. I have photoshopped and fit many alloys on my stilo and i havnt really found any that are worth the money. The only ones that that have come close are the ones that are a little like the abarth claws but look a bit like Japanese throwing stars. I cant remember what they are called.

see a few with these

No, but having just completed a round trip of a thousand miles without a single light coming on brings a sort of grin to the face.

Hey bozzy how's things!?! Just though I'd keep you in touch with how the old girl is doing (my first post I believe yay! hello everyone!!). After a bit of TLC she's absolutely rock-steady reliable these days - no ECU lights for a very long time lol. Over the past month she's had:

  • Relocated overboost valve
  • Cleaned EGR valve
  • Replaced N/S headlamp adjustment motor (the easier O/S one to do tomorrow – thank you to koopturbo for that VW part suggestion – bargain!)
  • Replaced both handbrake cables today (ready for MOT – same price to do both at local garage than one at the dealer)
  • Cam belt change / Gold service at Fiat dealer
  • 4x new tyres (Toyo / Kuhmo – both recommended from me!)
  • Fitted Sony headunit & rear JBL 6.5” speakers
  • Removed undertray (it was causing hell with speed bumps)
  • Greased skywindow (DON’T use Vaseline!! clogged the drain tubes causing a real nightmare with water ingress)
  • Cleaned skywindow connectors with contact cleaner to remove sporadic errors with the car – previously fixed by tapping the roof light console!
  • Fitted a Motorola Bluetooth kit – mute lead still to-do
  • Fitting Meta alarm system at the moment
  • Replaced rear wiper arm
  • New pads on the front – still toying with some uprated pads/discs though

Just the dreaded death-rattle to sort - having the gearbox/engine mounts checked locally soon. MOT next week *gulp* but should be fine once I've got the headlight beam adjustment spot-on. I'll be going to my trusted local Fiat dealer TJ Vickers in Telford - I can't praise them enough for their professionalism and honesty over the years.

BTW most of my friends have Clios and Meganes for some reason (I seem to attract them lol) and they are all in the garage much more than out - hope you got lucky bozzy! The later models seem better to be fair, but after the recent MSN article on the Stilo, well...!

Also just to quickly say a huuuge "thank you" to everyone on here over the last couple of years (my 2nd Stilo JTD now) for all your advice - you all rule! :slayer:

Matt.

I wondered when you were going to make your first post. Welcome, and nice to see you still enjoying her.

Cheers. Like so many of my good intentions, I just never seem to get around to these things! Glad the Megane is working out, it's definately the only other similar car to contend with the Stilo on style like-for-like I reckon. (y)

What volxstu said btw. A lad at work has a yellow Abarth with the standard 17s that were stripped and coated black with a deep glossy laquer finish. The lowering definately makes the wheels fill the arches more nicely, not to mention the handling (remember to remove the spring catchers though or they will scrub on full lock).

Welcome to the Forum Matt (y)

Personally I'd put the undertray back on as it's better to hear that crunch than the gearbox  (which is next lowest I think) and watch you don't generate any wiring issues with that META alarm.

nice to see someone happy with the Stilo for a change, although Bozzy's JTD is definately worthy of enjoyment :worship:

welcome Matt

chucky101, check my classifides (y)

Thanks guys!! Point noted about the undertray - I've kept an eye and although things look clean and scratch-free under there still, I might try and refit it upside-down as it is bowed and sags low otherwise.

Sorry for hijacking the original thread btw. On the topic of black wheels, I attached a pic of the car at work I mentioned (hope you don't mind Martyn if you're on here!) that were dipped and coated by a local firm. The rubbish iphone camera didnt come out too well though...
