XBoX 360

XBoX 360

Yeah but this is gonna give bad vibes to a lot of people. Microsoft went early with this 360 so they could win over the PS fanboys and at this rate all they are doing is making the situation worse. The fanboys are just gonna say that microsoft can't deliver on their promises. If they want to convince those people then they should have got the launch sorted out.

Obviously us guys that know better will buy a 360 regardless as we know what gameplay is all about.

Super mario world on the snes anyone ;)

id love to know what % of the PS2 userbase have no intention of even looking at a 360.regardless of games and spec

hear what your saying. but one of reasons i wouldnt buy a PS3 is due to the shape of the controller. looks nasty. although if Halo was released on PS3 instead of XBOX it would be a different story. :p

Yeah the PS controllers are a nightmare to use properly. Anyone tried a pure fighting game like Virtua fighter with a PS2 control pad :D

point is though, shortages(to an extent)are good for hype. remember 2 xmas's ago when no one could lay there hands on xbox's?
now that was a good time for selling modded xbox's :D

I didn't even realise there was any Xbox shortage as from with Microsoft's halo'd doors the general air was of disappointment at slow UK sales, we had loads of them kicking about, getting given away to staff for free, but then we had them for months in advance on stands in work to play with.

i actually think the PS controller can't be beaten, the biggest complaints that Microsoft received after the launch was of the horrible and cheap feeling plasticy controller, hence why they brought out the small controller.

I will probably end up with both, but see no need to hurry into buying one till Halo3 even tho Halo2 was too short, comes out on Xbox and GT5 (GT series can’t be beaten) & GTA whateveron PS3 (Xbox later) which for me are the outstanding titles from each camp. Hey Custard did you know the guy who started the whole GTA thing is from Glasgow thats why on the original one 9 in a row, Rangers and Buckfast etc were cheats, he lives up Broughty Ferry now has an RS200, 1000bhp Skyline and I think a RUF 911, he goes up Crail sometimes with his mates to drag them!

I believe all the new wave of consoles will be great in there own ways and will always have a debate in what’s better, i can't wait to get them but they are down my priority list cos I got much better things to spend my money on like my cars :)

what have they done to that poor punto lol

Glad you got one Mark... can i borrow it? :D :p

Personally I'd have been happy to pay £500 for my 360, it really is that good. It's so much more than a games machine but it runs games better than any high end Home PC.:worship:

oh word of warning.theres been plentiful reports of scratched discs in the 360. you MUST remove the disc from the drive if you are changing from horizontal/vertical.
M$ are refusing to replace discs as its in page 1 off the manual.
also been reading the 360 draws about 160w off power, more than double the 74w of the xbox!

i wouldnt hold out too much on a 360 price drop. as i said previously as M$ outsource parts its harder to cut costs. think the launch of halo 3 is there attempt at a launch spoiler. i'll get the 360 and wait to see how the PS3 performs and try the boomerang controllers

however they managed with the first xbox, by losing money on the console and making it back with the games (y)

oh yeah there will be reductions but more to do with market forces. if 360 sales are poor then they will be forced into it regardless of costs & margins.
but they will hope that the early start and strong software line up will avoid this. also remeber the new live market place is another revenue avenue they really want to capitalise.

the longer they can keep the price of the machine high whilst making sales the better for M$ though i would hope console shortages are remided very early in the new year as many people will hold off for the PS3 if the gap is not to large
