Women drivers!! A90 Accident :(

I'm probably a bit bitter as my instructor kept me away from anywhere near the test centre apart from the Haudagan roundabout (notorious roundabout in Aberdeen). I can't decide if it was because it was located in one of the not so good areas of Aberdeen (test centre not Haudagan) or if he was just old school :) He did like making me drive though some of the really posh areas though and insist I concentrate instead of gawping at the gorgeous houses. Sadist

Presumably you made the mistake of booking at Mastrick then? I went for BOD, as my gran lived just down the road from the test centre. Knew most of the roads etc so local knowledge was a bit helpful.

I used to drive the A90, including the junction in question, regularly as a learner. For a while I took lessons from a guy who turned out to be a borderline alcoholic. Most were late on a Saturday when I finished my job as a sponge at Glenvarigill, so it was an easy hour for him before he hit the Hawthorne, Malt Mill or wherever he was heading directly after. I also knew most of the towns roads and layouts through working with my old man on his milk runs, so directions have never been an issue.

I honestly fail to see how the driver managed to **** up that junction so royally though. The big black and white signs really are a giveaway than you need to keep going left!

Test Centre I went to was lets say interesting.
Narrow road down the side leading to a wee industrial estate, bay park was a C**T there.
Most common Fail for learners on their test was after being told by the examiner to trun right out of the test centre, they went almost onto the wrong side of the road, so instant Fail.

I still don't know how I managed to pass my test.
Worked 8hr night shift before my test (11pm- 7am ish), was in Chichester not long after 8 as got a lift from work with my Dad.
Went upto a prak at the top of Chichester & had about 1hr's sleep, then left myslef 20mins to get from the top of North Street, down to the Train Station car park, which is the other end of Chichester, stoping off at Tesco Express to get a Lucozade & take 2 Propluss to help me wake up.
Had 1hr lesson before my test, then went out with Steve 'No Pass' Parker (examiner), did all the manovuers, went for a wee drive, then headed back to the test centre, with me thinking I had failed.
Next thing he said to me is "Congratulations Andrew you've passed" at which point my instructor came out from the test centre building, saw my grin & just said "I knew you could do it".

Didn't get to bed untill 3pm that day, then back at work that night for 11pm.

you get taught how to pass the test not how to drive id have hit the car btw truck driver was in hospital 20 ton ov cement wasted etc
