Harper said:I'm probably a bit bitter as my instructor kept me away from anywhere near the test centre apart from the Haudagan roundabout (notorious roundabout in Aberdeen). I can't decide if it was because it was located in one of the not so good areas of Aberdeen (test centre not Haudagan) or if he was just old schoolHe did like making me drive though some of the really posh areas though and insist I concentrate instead of gawping at the gorgeous houses. Sadist
Presumably you made the mistake of booking at Mastrick then? I went for BOD, as my gran lived just down the road from the test centre. Knew most of the roads etc so local knowledge was a bit helpful.
I used to drive the A90, including the junction in question, regularly as a learner. For a while I took lessons from a guy who turned out to be a borderline alcoholic. Most were late on a Saturday when I finished my job as a sponge at Glenvarigill, so it was an easy hour for him before he hit the Hawthorne, Malt Mill or wherever he was heading directly after. I also knew most of the towns roads and layouts through working with my old man on his milk runs, so directions have never been an issue.
I honestly fail to see how the driver managed to **** up that junction so royally though. The big black and white signs really are a giveaway than you need to keep going left!
