ive got a belkin PMCIA wireless card and it keeps disconnecting me! if you go into network connections it says "network cable unpluged"

i know its not loosing signal because im sat bout 5 metres from the hub, and its usually fine here, ive run 2 spyware programs, and cleared the registry.

sometimes it stays connected for half hour to an hour then it will be disconnecting every minute. sometimes it will reconnect itself, othertimes i have to disable and then enable the connection to reset it. msn troubleshooter says its lost the IP address.

any ideas?

similar lines... i've a Netgear something or other wireless router, had probs on wireless so used wired but recently its been tempermental occasionally it'll have a fit for couple of hours where it will go on/off saying cable been unplugged  but its wired? and still lets me get to the router management ip/page thingy just not the internet gateway side of things?

worst was when i was in the middle of something and it did it i got a bit cross and started swearing... and apparently i'd started swearing at my pooter just as my mum had plugged something in a plug socket in the other room

i dont think there is, my software does a site survey and im the only one that appears, plus were too far away from other houses, and they all old foggies! :p

just had a play with the setup and was watching it and it seemed the signal strength dipped every time it disconnected, and then it had to rescan for the network, had a play and changed the connection speed from auto to the full 11MBPS and it seems ok so far! not dosconnected yet!

Could be something to do with your DNS, had a similar prob with my dads laptop where all the computers in the house were connected to the NET and could file share but my dads could not access the net, the DNS address was incorrect on the laptop.
