Wipers help

Had my Bravo for 8 months but the wipers are useless. I did fit a new set supplied by my dads garage but they didn't improve things. Had this same problem on previous cars so I guess my dads wipers are rubbish quality.
Spotted some on ebay, anybody had any experience of buying from there
Any suggestions on which make to buy?
And where from?

Have you tried cleaning your windscreen properly?

What problems are you having?

I use halfords wiper blades and every couple of months give the screen a good clean, never had a problem.

The wipers simply dont clear the screen. I do clean the outside with window polish most times i wash the car, to stop it streaking or drying with little spots.
At higher speeds if the wipers are on they're lifting off the screen so not wiping much.

Cream cleaner, think its autoglym or similar.

I use vinegar and water, this cleans my windows up a treat. I have always used Fiats Window Wipers for the Bravo and they are really good quality and last for atleast a year. They cost about £14 for the pair however to stop your wiper skidding across the window when travelling at speed, buy yourself one of those wind deflectors for your wiper arms. Halfords do those metal chrome and coloured wipers with wind deflectors for about the same price as Fiat ones mbut haven't tried them out, but they do look good.

Cream cleaners leave the glass with a greasy coating, and the wipers can't shift it. They get coated with the greasy mess and wont wipe properly unless you give them a good clean with washing up liquid or something similar.

New wiper arms?

I bought new wiper arms from Fiat when because mine were corroded and looking a bit tired, anyway now the arm is super stiff and the wipers press against the window harder, on the old ones the springs were quite slack through use and didn't hug the window and so were less efficient.
