Technical Wiper linkage needing fixed

I've been on previous threads about this but none state whether how you gain access to the linkage after you take the wiper blades and wiper arm off.

There is a plastic bit over the top that stops you gaining access to the linkage, do you have to completely remove this? Its the plastic bit that attaches directly to the windscreen and provides a seal between the windscreen and bonnet.

Any help would be much appreciated

Yea, you have to take this off to access the linkage and motor. There's 8 screws holding it in, and you have to bend it to get it out from under the bonnet hinges.
