They don’t
They turn anti clockwise from rest looking from the bonnet


All this could easily be diagnosed if you post pictures and videos

The arms run diagonally should start bottom left and rise to top right as per photo in post 10

Would it not be a good idea to lift the arms up while testing if you having problems

They definitely did in the week. I didn't imagine it.

But gremlins eh?

I just now took the arms off, put tape flags on and they looked spot on, so I put the arms back on... perfect. So god only knows what I did different last time.

Thanks for all your suggestions though, I'll try to remember to test a problem in other, different ways in future.

Glad it seems to be behaving

Historically the motors ability to 'park' reliably isnt 100% foolproof ..

Ive had a few cars over the years that didnt reliably park...

So maybe it stopped in an odd place.. and you mounted the arms there ??

Close the bonnet
Lift wipers off the screen they can't hit anything.
Switch on wipers
Do they park? Where do they park? Strange things happen when the linkage is broken. You can buy repair kits for about £20 search eBay.

Assuming it all moves normally. Allow the motor to park itself. Remove arms from axles and refit in the parked position.

If the motor does not park you need a replacement. There are no reliable ways to repair the internals.
