Windows 7?

Windows 7?

USB Datasticks? How much ram does the system have?

Only problem I've seen is with software which doesn't support Vista suprisingly doesn't run on seven. Worst is Starforce DVD protection which actually tried to break the machine. Had to use system recovery to get back into windows.
Standard starforce behaviour :( When will people who make games realise this just pisses people off and doesn't stop the problem?

So, goodbye TOCA Race Driver 3... Can't play it now that I'm in Vista and 7.

Will I buy the next in the series - Grid? No chance!

Talking of DVD emulators - got one which will run under seven? Alcohol 120 is my usual tipple but I think I read it won't work under 7?

I think I got magicdisk to work - but that's very basic. Doesn't have the ISO management window like Alcohol120, and doesn't like ISOs on network drives.. which is a pain when you have a gigabit network, and have to copy every iso you want to use once to the local machine.

edit: no didn't get magicdisk to work - just remembered I had to burn the iso to disk to get at the goodies inside.

I've got mine running on a esata drive. I unplugged the main sata drives when installing so as far as XP and 7 are concerned they are the only os on the machine

As for RAM. My machine has 2GD of DDR2 533. The task manager gets it right but the system properties (seen when you right click Computer > Properties) says 18GB.

This is why its still beta lol. Can't believe some people are using it as there main OS.
Mine is on my main drive but only because Vista went a bit crappy on me. My data is all safe on another drive :) Will be putting Vista back on soon though.

i built a Windows 7 64bit PC in work today to try it out, only played on it for 10 minutes but i cant get my head around why?

i looks completely like vista just with a different task bar, didnt really seem less resource intensive as others have said.

i got bored and now its just living under my desk (n)

I got windows 7 Installed :) its awesome, and put it on my other partition so I can revert back to XP when ever something doesn't work, I got the free serial aswell to activate it till it expires in August =D

And it uses less ram than vista 128mb compared to vista's 1gb

You mean it's minimum required ram is lower? Mine's using 1.2Gb out of 4 currently. I do have all the fancy stuff turned on though.

I find it uses less RAM but I don't really see why that was a bad thing with Vista because it meant stuff loaded pretty bloody fast. Back to Vista for me. Windows 7 simply isn't good enough at the moment....

well seems alright now ive installed it
runs fine on what you can see is hardly a high end machine!!

I have Windows 7 installed on my test laptop as well as Vista Ultimate, XP Pro and Ubuntu lol

I am impressed with W7, mainly because off the tweaks I use to speed up Vista, most have been included in W7 as standard
