Hi all
Was just wondering about if the type of boot you have determines how well a sub in its enclosure performs. For example I'd tend to go for the 12" sub in any case to get the deeper longer bass notes but how would a 10" in an unported enclosure sound in my Brava?

Or does the boot type not have any impact and its down to preferred type of music?

Cheers
Peter

The car volume as a whole affects the sound, not just the boot.

As I've said many times with modern high power long throw subs there is really no-longer this whole thing of 10" being tight, 12" being low and 15" being very low. Thats a throwback to 10 years ago.

There are 8" drivers on the market that drop lower than some 12" and 15" drivers. Its more a case of loudness, the larger the driver the louder it goes.

So Tom, would you know if the Vibe driver is bigger than, say a JBL (to get the most from the volume?)

Ok,lets say the JBL GT4 the Vibe blackair active in terms of 2 of the market leaders for quality.Looking to obtain bassy sound with high volume would I be better off with a 10" or 12" in my Brava?.

thanks
Peter.

The vibe might have an edge over the JBL but both are more market midfielders in terms of quality.

In both cases a 12 would be louder.

The vibe space 12 is actually pretty good in the right box, but at £170 for the driver you are getting into more serious kit.

It's around £300 MAX as I've aleady got a basic boot instal, but looking to upgrade, which makes the Vibe ported 12" active with built in amp more attractive.Plus I need as much boot space as I can muster too accomodate a pushchair!!
