General wich is more eco? 1.2 8v or 1.2 16v

Wich one is the most economical? The 1.2 8v (75hp) or the 16v?
I know the 8v cambelt can break without damaging the piston to valves.
Other things i need to keep in mind? I'm planning to build it in an Uno mk1 (turbo isnt an option)

depends whether you use the extra power of the 16v; theoretically should be more fuel efficient but I suspect the 8v has the edge; my 8v still returns 49.5 mpg on country roads having clocked up over 200,000 miles.........
worth looking at total cost ie higher insurance on the 16v.....
the 1.2 8v Punto is no slouch and the Uno is lighter so performance of the 8v should be excellent
