consumption

out of my last £15 i got 180 miles, that was a mix of motorway driving, and urban. I drove fairly carefully but not like a grandad.

fuel

i can get about 310 out of mine on a full tank (hgt). i usually only put a tenners worth in at a time anyway, i get about 90 out of that but i only do about 15 miles a day.

Mine has improved recently!

Since I got 9 points on my license my HGT has gone from 16.5 mpg to 19mpg. So proof has it that you need to go fast, get caught and it saves you money!

Realistically though I have driven about 2,000 miles in the last week or so (Midlands to Scunthorpe to Maesteg to Andover in circles!) in the most appaling weather which has meant that I have driven slower than I normally would have.

I don't pay for petrol so I don't really care but if I got 19mpg on Super Unleaded it would mean about £850 per year in my pocket over 16.5mpg! As it is my annual petrol bill is in the region of £5,900.

My range on a full 60 litre tank has gone up to 258 miles from 225.

Cheers

Nigel

hmmmmmm

if i am getting 400 miles out of a full tank of petrol how many miles per gallon am i getting?????

if i spend £36.88 ON A full tank
and the petrol cost 70p a litre????

cheers

hmmm

I get 536 miles per tank, which is a round trip between Surrey and Cornwall.

engine is a 1.2 and the car has the rear seats currently removed as its used as my 'hack'.

thats a 50 litre petrol tank.

29.4!

Presuming that you have the 13.2 gallon tank (60 litres) and the mileage is full to empty then that is about 29.4mpg. In reality it is obviously less, you need to do it properly to get an exact figure.

MPG.....

I have a 1.6 SX which I drive moderately hard mostly down A-Roads doing a 40ish mile round trip Mon-Fri and my g/f takes it for a 50 mile trip on the Motorway on a Sat morning....

I get about 350-380 on a tank (approx. 45 litres)

Get usually 36-38 mpg

Barakka

PS- My g/f drives a cinqucento 900, does mostly motorway driving (at about 80) and averages 50-55mpg

calculation

here is the formula

m.p.g. = (m*p*4.51)/c

where

m = no of miles travelled since last fueling (eg 170)
p = price of a litre of fuel (currently 0.7ish)
c = amount you put in last time (eg £15)

Marea 100 ELX Auto

408 miles on 7/8th tank of petrol. I realise that it could have been better if I had driven at 56mph.

Not to bad

In my 155 20v HGT the most I ever got was
370 - that was mainly doing 50-60mph in fifth
up and down motorways (I normally do about 90-100 mph) but was on a "how much petrol can I get out of this" mission.

I normally get 240 , the WORSE I ever got was 197 miles - still I did have ALOT of fun !

Petrol

I put in about £36 in my 1.6 SX and got from Darlignton which is up North down to London then to brighton and then back to London again before I had to fill up. I thought this was good!

mpg

i manage about 320 miles between fill-ups, which works out at about 38ish mpg...

not bad at all!

No it don''t

From empty to full is 13.5ish gallons. 320 miles is 23.7 mpg. To do 38 mpg you would only use 8.4 gallons is only 6/10 of a tank or just under half way! If you do actually get 38 mpg, excellent, and it means you would have a range of 513 miles.

Sounds a bit optimistic on a Bravo!

Cheers

Careful Now.....

....not all the fuel tanks are the same size.
I have a 1.6SX(97) and as far as I know it has a 45l tank.
The HGT definately has a bigger tank, so be careful how you calculate, maybe the series II has a different tank?

The best way is to fill the car to the throat till it can take no more, reset the trip odometer then drive around till you need to fill up again and see how many litres it takes to fill it right up again - approx 4.5liters per UK gallon.
Then as Nigel suggested on the last fuel consumption threads (which seem to start every 2 minutes) is to repeat this process to get a good average figure.

see my post

Now i've worked mine out over many many trips between Surrey and Cornwall, and easiest way to do it is that I fill up about half a mile from my house... and drive all the way there and all the way back without filling up again.

Its 536 miles (give or take a mile or 2)

Now I dont know what MPG that is, but its what i get every journey - some journeys i make it home before the petrol light comes on, other times i barely make it.

Bravo HLX..... 22mpg ! (using Digital Acceleration Techniques !!!!)

Got an HLX 1.8 - R Plate.

Town Driving, (Digital Acceleration - On & Off !)
Getting around 22mpg....

Did a round Motorway Trip of 200 Miles and used less than half a tank.... Most I've had on 'sensible' driving was 440ish Miles / Tank.... around 37 mpg....

Not too bad.. but it doesn't happen too often....

they all have 60 litre tanks

I still have the original Bravo FIAY brochure. The technical specs say that all the bravos have the same size tank, 60 litres!!! maybe its a misprint

all 60 litres??

That's bull ****!!
My Bravo 1.4 SX has a quoted (and in practice) tank of 40 litres!
