Hi , I got 2x500w 6x9's and wondering if they will be okay to use straight from a kenwood HU?
If not, how big an amp would I need to power them.
If amp needed I am looking for a cheap one if anyone has one to sell as I am now skint...lol.

Thanks a lot.
Stu.

I wouldnt really want to put much more than 100w RMS on those 6x9's. Also i thought that they were rated at 90w RMS on there website.
They are cheap 6x9's so i wouldnt be spending 100's on an amp for them unless you plan to upgrade the system some time in the future. Even then most 2 channel amps are around the 100w RMS mark.

Yeah that. Thats the cheapest amp on CAS. Maybe think about buying a decent amp then going onto upgrade to front comps or some more 6x9's.

ICE is a headache. I spent hours yesterday trying to make sure everything would fit. You could always look in classifieds or ebay?

looking at a Pyramid 1000w amp at mo, I can have it for £30 if I want.
I know its overpowered but like you say , upgradable !!

What do you think?

You do mean 1000 and not 100 yes?

If it's 1000W it would be bye bye speakers if you connected them. That Fli amp is brand new and down like £30. Would say almost prefect.

Dont be fooled by silly max power ratings. If it anything like this.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pyramid-PB717X-2-Channel-1000-Watt-Amplifier-AMP_W0QQitemZ330354627028QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Amplifiers?hash=item4ceaab91d4&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177#ht_3706wt_1167
Then it will be running 2 x 50w RMS. This is why we say not to look at max power as its just a marketing scam to lure those who dont know better into buying the product.

Hi, its's the same model as that. So would you get it?

The amp your looking at only is 2x50W RMS but your 6x9s are 150W RMS each. Can't see that amp doing the job really. Not near enough power for a decent sound and it's only £20 cheaper than the suggested amp.

Wow, I thought it was a good one. Shows what I know, I will forget that then.
Thanks for the links, is the cheaper one good for it as my car is old and the ice will be worth more than the car in the end...lol.
Or maybe the suggested amp earlier?
cheers .
