Styling Which alloys ?

You will need some new spigot rings too, fit in the back of the alloy to centre it on the hub.

I think the offset of those alloys will be 45mm, so you will need some 5mm spacers. Otherwise they may catch on something, and look to far into the arch.
The offset could be anywhere from 35-45mm so until he knows what alloys they are we had better not scare him too much :D

Fair enough.

Bet im right though :p ;)
What makes you think that they will have an et of 45mm then ?
Most wolfrace wheels that are 4 stud have a 38mm or 40mm offset  and the Stilo can take up 45mm iirc especially with those tyres on it.

Because theyre from a Vauxhall

Thats assuming its 7" wide, they could possibly be 7.5".

And imo a 45mm offset would make the alloys look too far into the arch (like i said before)

Standard 17s come with a 41mm offset, team dynamics say 40mm, novitec even say 30mm.

Im only telling him what he could need. Theres no point in him buying the alloys thinking they'd fit straight on, only for him to need spacers.

Just because they are from a Vauxhall doesn't mean they will come with that offset. They are aftermarket by the sounds of it. If you go to http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/ and put in your car as a Vauxhall astra, the wolfrace wheels come up and the 1st three that I looked at had an ET of either 38 or 40mm.

If the alloys have an offset of 38 or 40mm then they would look very wide on a Vauxhall and possibly even catch on the outer arch.

Rochford tyres car fitment indicator can be a long way out.

I put in mk2 Punto, chose 17" and was being told i could fit an alloy with an offset of 40mm. Which you cant. You would need a 10mm spacer at the back and a 5mm spacer at the front.

Anyway.... if the alloys do have an offset of 38 or 40mm then they would fit on a Stilo perfectly.

If they have on offset of 45mm then IMO 5mm spacers would be needed.

Well the wolfrace ikon wheels are ET38 -40 :D with the 4 stud as far as I can see.

So the best bet now would be to try one of the wheels on your car for fit. Don't drive it without wobblies on though.

Is there anything special about wobblies or are they all standard..., will I have to buy them first to check the fitment or if a wheel goes on then its a good bet to get wobblies, can I sniff some out on ebay? ;) I am a little excited now ..hehe !

It's best not to drive without the wobblies because standard bolts will possibly shear off or work their way loose. The wobbly bit is basically a V shaped washer that sits inside the bolt hole and allows the wheel to move very slightly around the bolt if its under a lot of pressure from the fact that the bolts are tightly in place. I've only had one set of wheels with wobblies so i'm not an expert on size etc ? Best bet would be to phone a wheel supplier and they would advise on that. But there's no reason you can't try the wheels on your car with standard bolts just for the fitting. Just don't drive it around.
This is all just from my own experience mind so don't hold me responsible for any misshaps ;)

17" or 18" has to be done :)

Mine are 17" Wolfrace Katana's and i have loads of comments saying they suit the car. And that was even a few sales reps at Fiat too

Liked the wheels and exhaust, you going to get it lowered ?

Eventually yeah but may have 18" 1st as if drop it about 30mm might be getting a wee bit close to the pipes

Only going 30mm though just to sit it better on the arches :)

It will drop 35mm no problem with 18's on it. The Abarth copes with it fine and that drops further on the front than other Stilos.

Yeah thats why want 18"s so that if i did it on mine now it might get a little low on the exhausts

But surely it won't make any difference to your exhausts. If you have 18's your tyres will need to be a lower profile to give the same RR because of the speedo. So the car will sit no higher or lower in reality.

However, my 18's came with 225/40/18 tyres on a 7.5inch wheel and that has given me an extra 3/4inch diameter. Which has really filled the arches perfectly, although my speedo will be out a little bit :D
