where to get cambelt etc done

Hi, live in Bagshot Surrey jcn 3 of M3. Just bought 1998 R reg brava 1.8elx with 53k on the clock.

I want to get the cam belt and tensioner replaced but dont know any local (ish) good garages called one in Hook recommended on forum and awaiting quote - dont belive in main dealer rip off!!

Anyone know anywhere within say 15 miles or so.

Also, what else should be done while they are doing it?

Also, is it something a reasonable diyer can do?

Yes, I changed both the cam belt and tensioner. Pretty easy, no need to strip any engine parts other than the cover 45mins max. Warning though, the haynes workshop book is wrong with regard to moving the tensioner though.

Anyone done 1.8 elx who can give me a few tips.
The cambelt guide is for the 1.2 - is it exactly the same for the 1.8?
