Where are the wires for heated seats ?

Ive searched through a few of the old posts, but only really found vague answers.

Someone must know for sure where they are, lots of people are saying under where the coin holder is, I'm fairly sure thats the electric mirror connection, the electric mirror switch fits it well at least. :p

Lots of people have asked before, one of them must have found the wires.

under the seat :)

if you remove the seat it's loads easier...

There should be a hole in the carpet about dead centre where the seat was... using a tourch look in the hole and there should be a white plug.

The wire might not be long enough to pull it all the way out.. if thats the case u'll have to either cut the carpet to get ur hand in there or be very nimble with ur finger tips and plug the seat plug in under the carpet.

But trust me.. it's under there somewhere!! :)

Thanks Tommy I found it, the hole in the carpet was not punched out, making it less than obvious.

Like a fool I did the passenger seat ok, then chucked the drivers seat in, cut a whole in the carpet and no wire to be seen. Ive had a good fish around but cant find it, the seat will have to come out again.....when it gets cold, lol.

What seats are you fitting that they are heated and what model is your car as standard?

Ive got a Brava TD100SX, the seats came out of a Bravo HGT.

The wires are there. I took the seats out and put the backs in, but it got dark by the time I started to put the fronts in. The round hole wasn't obvious as it wasn't punched out of the carpet, I cut a ever bigger slot in the back of that cross section bit in the floor, but still couldn't see a wire.

After Tommy confirmed it is there, I cut a hole in the front and there it was, so plugged it in and bolted the passenger seat in.

Then I bolted the drivers seat in assuming the wire would be the same, but after cutting the same slot in the front of the carpet, the wires no where to be seen, lol.

I'm going to have a fish around with a bit of coat hanger, but maybe the seat and centre console will have to come out again. I'm in no rush though, summers coming, theres no guarantee they will work anyhow and Ive a load of other jobs to do anyway, Marea door handles, electric Mirrors, recover door panels, a little engine tuning....

Ah i see, so why fit Bravo seats in a Brava, im guessing they are either leather or the old ones are worn.

You could run another wire from the plug on the drivers side to the passenger side to connect to the heated seats if you really wanted. To be honest i never knew that the heated seat wiring was already installed. Well thats good to know to all SX owners if they wanna try my new guide for heated seats.

Both, my drivers seat was worn and the new ones are leather plus Ive got a dog and over the winter he makes a mess with his muddy paws, leathers so much easier to clean and it does look better.

The wire is there, looking at were the mirror wires are near the handbrake I could see the wires going off to each side, I just cant find it on the drivers side, it must be out of reach in that crossmember bit or something.

Yeah i would image so. Well good luck and as you say weathers getting warmer now. I think your better off testing the heated seats first instead of wasting your time looking for the wire as it could be alot of wasted time if they never worked to begin with.

Just a tip, even thought the LED on the side still works, it doesn't mean the heating elements on the seat are. Im selling mine on Ebay if interested, :)

I think I can live without it, you don't miss what you've never had. I did look at your guide and congrats on doing it, but I'm not sure I'd dare do it myself.

Hopefully it will work anyway, I'm sure they were described as working.

Do you remember anyone repositioning their cigarette lighter ? I cut mine out last night and put a boost gauge in there, but wouldn't mind putting the lighter somewhere else.

funny you say that about the drivers side.. mine was hidden down the back of the x-member.

too a bit to find it and fish it out.. but it'll be there.. somewhere :)

Glad I could offer some help tho.. feeling rather smug :)

Tommy where did you find it, to wards the centre near the handbrake ?

I was just looking through some old threads and see you moved the cigarette lighter, how did you do that ? Ive got the back of the lighter out but cant see for the life of me how you fit it to a hole. It wont go from the back because of that lump on it, and how would you get the green bit through a hole smaller than itself ?
