broken seat?

Hello all. I'm after advice please.

As i came round a corner tonight my seat suddenly tilted to the right. When i had a look underneath i can't see anything broken but the rear joint of the seat height adjustment thing seems to let the seat move up n down independent of where the adjuster is. It seems to be broken but without actually looking like anything has snapped. All the joints are still attached, nothing seems bent but it now seems to rotate rather than be fixed.

Question is, can this mechanism be changed independent of the seat or is it replacement seat time as i really like my seat?

Sorry this is so long after the OP. its a new seat as finding a frame and transferring it will inevitably be harder and as expensive as just getting a seat from a scrappie.
