What's the pipe/valve near bottom of timing belt cover?

Anyone know what the small pipe is on outside of the 1.6. engine that runs along front near oil filter and then turns corner around bottom of timing belt cover/crankshaft wheel and has somekind of valve in it? Is it part of oil circuit?

Your description sounds like the crankshaft sensor and cable, not a pipe.
