"Use public transport", we're told.
So today, I did.
A bit of a logisitics juggle. Take one car 43 miles away, leave it, and return home on buses. Tomorrow, travel 70 miles, pick up sister, take her to location of 'abandoned' car. Leave her with one car, return home in the other.
Next week, I have to do the reverse.
So today. 43 miles, 50 minutes, mostly motorway.
Midday, walk 200 yards to bus stop. Wait 12 minutes for bus. Nearly an 40 minutes later, arrive at bus station, about 7 miles from start. Wait 15 minutes for next bus. On bus for 1hr45m, to next bus station. Wait 20 minutes for next bus. Got off bus about 1/2 mile from home, walked. Arrived home at 15:50. That's 3 hours longer than the car journey.
Benefits:
Journey was free, to me, as I used my bus pass, for the first time. Thank you all you taxpayers, subsidising my travel through the countryside.
Got the front seat, upstairs, on all three buses, so best view of countryside.
