you realise you have just posted on an open forum that you have committed an offence?

Section 90 Police Act 1996 (Archbold 22-62) creates several offences relating to the impersonation of police officers or the possession of articles of police uniform, namely:

impersonating a police officer (including a special constable);
making a statement or doing any act calculated falsely to suggest membership of a police force;
wearing a police uniform calculated to deceive;
possessing an article of police uniform.
The circumstances of the case may disclose more than one of these offences. It will seldom be necessary to charge more than one offence. You should select the most appropriate.

You should consider the motive of the defendant. Where the impersonation involves a threat to the safety of any person, or to property, or is done with a view to financial gain, then a prosecution should follow.

Surely it's not an offence unless he said he was on duty and tried to arrest them? :confused:
trying to make some one believe you are a police officer when your are not is impersonating a police officer. I don't think saying off duty would be a defence if charged.

I replied: "I'm an off duty copper."

I don't think I've ever seen a VW move so bloody quick!!

:D Hilarious.

if 1 person can get arrested charged and convicted for saying they are a police officer to 4 blokes who are kicking his head in then i dont think stopping kids buying fags would be a defence.

so you grow up and take friendly advice for what it is.

I think Dave is quite fond of recommending Mk2 punto owners fit HID headlight kits as they are projector units it all OK...... still illegal but fine by dave ;)

infact i believe fitting any aftermarket LED exterior bulbs is technically illegal

Your right...... unless the lamp unit is approved for them but still techinically illegal under uk regs

Then again think the uk law (Road vehicle lighting regs) doesnt cover LED lamps what about the new LED headlight fitted cars or my evo tail lights or how about BMW smart High beam system / cornering lights ..... (thank fook for eec homologation) :devil:
