The slip on head restraints are not acceptable for driving tests, have to have proper built-in ones.
We have an eyesight test, the driver must be able to read a standard UK number plate at 20 metres. I did once meet a young woman learning to drive, who was registered blind. Not as frightening as it first seems, she'd just lost partial sight in one eye, so had to move her head more.
France used to have a rule about roundabouts, that gave priority to those entering the circle. Took them many years to work out why they had so many jammed up. Like getting into a lift (elevator) before letting anyone out.
I first heard roundabouts called 'traffic circles' from someone who'd learnt to drive in South Africa. They also call traffic signals 'robots', as an abbreviation of 'robotised traffic signal'. Was quite fun when she said 'red robot' or 'green robot'.
I've met a few people from the states moving to the UK, and roundabouts were always the thing they struggled with most.
I think 'Yield' is so much easier than our 'Give Way', but here too, so many arrive, pause, then look, when they could have kept moving. Causes a lot of collisions when they're hit from behind.
There are quite a few video clips of the Milwaukee roundabout on YouTube, where so many arrive too fast for the turn. It needs a few trees on it. Humans don't heed warnings as much as we should, only reacting when we see stuff. The Milwaukee roundabout is not straight ahead, so cars approach too fast. If the roundabout was more obvious on the approach, more would slow down, and spoil our fun watching them crash.
