Doing just a little shopping in a Sainsbury's on the way home last night proved really hard work. So felt the need to let them know via the feedback web address on the receipt.
Within the feedback form, the spellchecker did not recognise "Sainsbury's". Genius.

Really enjoyed TG...

Not trying to be old TG just ripping round Japan in some very cool cars (and some hilariously bad but very Japanese ones)..no star in a reasonably fast car or anything.

Even if the lexus/Honda race at the start had entirely unnecessary manga graphics probably the best tg in years..

It worked because I think this is what most motoring enthusiasts want: review some new cars, play with some cool older stuff, show us some obscure and interesting motoring sub culture(s).

I like the new Top Gear, three very different blokes and that makes it entertaining, Mr LeBlanc's west-coast wit is far better than Jezza's schoolboy version and the cars have been great too. Eclectic but great.

Changing the subject, I've just had a look through the entry list for the Mille Miglia (about 9 weeks to go)
Around 50 Fiats, lots of Jaguars, some lovely Alfas & Porsches, a big showing of Gullwings (always awesome to watch) with some well known & accomplished drivers. Can't wait!!
Andiamo italia!!!! :D:D

Car S.O.S: in these days of naff, "reality" TV, (lack of) talent shows, and Z-listers desperately trying to cling on to fame, it's lovely that heart warming, kind programmes like Car S.O.S are still being made.

I’ve not been able to get into this season at all, the first episode was boring as hell and I turned it off long before half way, the second episode with the big foot hunt, was more like an episode of the gadget show than top gear.

I didn’t see all of the lastest episode but the bits I did see as much as I liked the cars, it felt like they missed some opportunities and wasted some camera time, for no apparent reason, for example they went to the Fukushima exclusion zone, looked at an abandoned Porsche and then left again.... they were apparently granted special access for that.

I thought that added something, a bit of a break from the silliness. Doesn't work for everyone, but under the old regime they drove through Pripyat, visited the valley of the charge of the light brigade and other things of a similar nature.

Only difference would be the tone, which was possibly a bit quieter and more reverential than if the old crew had pitched up. But given the relatively recent nature of what went on and how many people died in the Japanese tsunami possibly for the best to give a quiet nod.

Season has been hit and miss but it's coming together better than TGTs throw a huge amount of money at the old 3 to do the same things over and over format.

Not comparing the two or taking sides, I still feel that the are trying to capture the old top gear but it’s rapidly becoming the Chris and Matt show, now I’m sure Chris Harris is a perfectly nice person, but there is something about him I just don’t like. Rory Reid is enthusiastic but boring, as proven in the latest episode of him yelling at some passing Lamborghinis for about 2 minutes. Then being able to make the most extravagant Lamborghinis in the world seem boring.

I do find the segmentation of the show rather strange.

Not sure what Rory did to not get included in the challenges but it wasn't the first time they've done it this season (same in America episode). They also tend to give him the more boring stuff to do...he got to play with some mad cars, but not on a track...so Matt and Harris get to drift Japanese 90s legends..Rory gets to scrape a bozoku Datsun and drive a very fast car in one of the most congested places on earth..

Take a look on Youtube at;
Driving a C-Type Jaguar on the Mille Miglia, Chris Harris on Cars

It's from 2013 and it's quite good, I like him, he's a very good driver and knows what he's talking about. Cars & racing them (y)

I'm well aware of Chris Harris back catalogue, it's one of the reasons I have time for TG especially now they put new episodes of Chris Harris on cars on the TG youtube. The half an hour film on him doing an endurance race in spa would have been great on the actual show but due to the ambitious but rubbish entertainment show legacy left by the previous 3 it wouldn't have fitted...and instead we got Evans crying in a McLaren.

Love the show, love the premise.. would like to drop Tim Shaw off a cliff every time he does a parts "blag".
