My brother's friend is lying in the local morgue ATM...I'm glad to see arguing about a locked thread is worth so much effort.

OT: I'm still buzzing from the weekend. Twas ruddy excellent :D

Moron in a black Seat alhambra with blacked out windows.

As I come off the roundabout I check my nearside mirror to pull into the bus lane - only to see the moron indicating & halfway across.
So I indicate & pull over.
The moron then pulls back into normal lane & puts foot down to get past
Just before the lights, there's nothing in the bus lane & three cars in normal lane - moron starts to drift into bus lane just as their front door is beyond my bus (they also started indicating).
I leans on horn & starts waving out of my window.
Lights change & straight away, moron is right up the @rse of car in front, trying to force them to go faster - but they weren't having it.
En-route to next roundabout the moron was still trying to bully the car in front to go faster - which made them slow down:devil:
This created a lovely gap for me:devil::devil:
At next (small) roundabout, 3 lanes all clearly marked turn left, straight ahead & turn right.
I'm at the head of the right lane, moron is 3rd vehicle.
moron gets fed up of waiting so indicates left & pulls into middle lane.
As moron overtakes car I've just set off.
Moron pulls alongside my back end, indicating right
By this time, I'm mid roundabout, just past 2nd exit (straight ahead) and making my move to the left hand lane to take the exit (all as indicated by the white lines painted around the roundabout in a spiral fashion specifically to teach the cretins how to drive round roundabouts).
Moron is left with nowhere to go except 2nd exit (straight ahead) so sits there blocking cars behind until somebody lets them in.
En route to next roundabout, moron was turning right so was booting it down the right hand lane.
Somehow, my bus had shielded their view of plod sat in a small layby :D:D:D
This was a 30 zone, I was doing 30, moron had come from way back & overtook me - probably hitting 50-60.
Blues & twos came on & they pulled moron just off the roundabout.
I swung round at the next roundabout (100 yards along) & pulled up behind plod.
Being the public spirited sort, I gave them my manager's contact card & mentioned the six cameras recording all the bad driving.
Not only were interested in the video, they were also interested in the half a dozen kids jumping around inside the car (blackened windows are obviously more effective in a collision than seatbelts.).

I went on my way happy in the knowledge that another cretin would shortly be coming off the roads, making them safer for the rest of us.(y)

I cant remember what made me smile, so I posted in grumpy instead

Fantastic! :D Sometimes I miss driving a bus (but then I think about having to pick people up and remember why I left!) We had a few 'hot-spots' where you could almost guarantee some form of confrontation with a motorist - it's great when you know you're in the right (which comes from driving the same route umpteen times a day, six days a week) Good work, SG (y)

Happy Days!

Kids back at school tomorrow so lots of lovely blocked roads.

When you pull into opposite lane with nothing coming, you're partway along & some cretin decides to drive right up to your bumper because the cars are parked in your lane therefore it is HIS right of way - despite the fact that he wasn't coming as you started the maneuvre.
Just got to perfect the stance - sitting there, arms crossed & trying to keep a straight face :D

Why on earth these idiots think it is easier for me to reverse a bus all the way back to where I came from than it is for them to go back 2 yards & pull in to the numerous small gaps, i will never know.

Mind you, it's not all fun & games.
Today, driving through Buckingham, foreign lorry driver decided the ring road wasn't for him - but there's not room for us both to pass & as I was the smaller vehicle, I had to reverse up the hill - never seen so much blue smoke - my clutch really suffered. You could still smell it at teatime.
later on, going across country from winslow to Leighton Buzzard I encountered one of the new breed of tractor & trailer - the sort with tyres that are about 6' tall & 6' wide.
My colleague was, shall we say, a bit fretful as the tractor made no attempt to get over & I was struggling to get up on the grassy verge.

Mind you, the incident with the moron in the alhambra made up for it - despite the later rain, that incident cheered me up no end.

Me too , Great isn't it? :D

Respite - my dispenser Judi always used to write restbite as well :D

I got a pile of data copied/ backed up from the old laptop, took ages but it's done :)

haha, always doing it...would have thought I would have learnt to spell it...been using it for last 7 odd years lol
