What's made you grumpy today?

Take it to the police, you've got the evidence that he was driving without care. And I'm sure he can be prosecuted for refusing to give details too. Hope you get it sorted.

I would go as far as to ask a friendly officer to have a word. The next person he meets on the wrong side of the might not has as quick reflexes.

Washing machine refused to empty and threw up an error code. Drain probably blocked with fluff.
"Check drain filter" it helpfully suggests in the book. Yes, that'll empty the drum onto the kitchen floor then, thank you.
Luckily, prodding the button caused it to try again, and reluctantly and slowly it emptied and spun.
So now I've got to drag it out and clean the drain pipe where it connects to the house drain.
My first ever automatic washing machine, a Hoover, had wheels at the back. Lift the front slightly, and pull, out it came. Ah! Memories.

Why do people take racing lines or drive on the wrong side of the road? :bang:

As I turned into a blind bend earlier I was greeted by this JEEP on the wrong side of the road.

I had to hit the grass to avoid a head on collision.

He missed me by about six inches.

The JEEP failed to stop and when I caught up with him later the driver refused to give his details. Just as well I was going slowly enough for there to be no suspension damage.
Whereabouts did that happen?

Had to call another 3 hours work off on the car tonight... really fed up... was all raring to go.

On the plus, my misses got a new job today and is out spending dollar on a temporary uniform.

Had big plans to vinyl wrap my whole car - had a really pretty colour lined up, everything, ready to go.

Spoke to Direct Line... Policy would be declined.

Is it an age thing? I can't do much until 25..

No, decline for everyone reagrdless.

Had insurance related fun and games yesterday...

Have the joys of attempting to get my wife's new policy sorted for the new car. But her old NCD is 3 years old and other than that all she probably has is a letter stating 3 years claim free on a company car.

However the level of confusion this appears to generate is mind boggling. According to admiral she has either 0, 3 or 7 years of NCD for example.

Do love attempting to quote for none standard risks, reminds me why I stopped doing it as a day job. Then there's the fun of describing what I do, I've got it down now so they know what I do..but it's never on any lists.

Oh and my hail damage..i didn't claim but it's on record so I declare it..was literally asked so do you want me to list it? Er I'm declaring it under "utmost good faith" if you choose not to list it then I can only assume that's your company policy. I'm not going to tell you how to process that information you tell me what your company does with it.

Standard Direct Line policy is "NO modifications", but they do include things likebusiness use. There are plenty of specialist insurers out thre who will cover modifictions, it's your choice.

I check my tyres every two weeks.... HOW could it have gone like this so quickly?!

Phoned Fiat to get a quote for tyres. Previously used a nearby place selling 'Lassa' brand tyres for £50 per wheel.. Fiat said they'd sell Yokohama tyres for £36 each fitted.

The Lassa garage apparently isn't the sharpest at alignment, and a few people are telling me to get the main dealership to do an alignment tomorrow.. They charge £36 for alignment, but as they'll give me a receipt in my hand I'll be able to go back and complain if the balding keeps happening.

Lifted it up last night inspected everything under the wheel, bearings, bushings, joints, nothing loose. Nothing noisy.

Only worn on the passenger side, outer front tyre....

Can anyone tell me if Yokohama BluEarth's are better than Lassa Atracta's? Quite hard to compare tyres in my opinion.

Getting the new ones tomorrow, two front's.

Tbf I'd probably just not use the Lassa garage again. 50 quid a tyre for Lassa is mental in that size. I paid 68 quid fitted a tyre for Goodyears in 205/50 17. Also if you haven't hit anything it would appear they can't align tyres for toffee.

I can't imagine the Yokohamas will be worse than the Lassa tyres. I had Lassa Grand slam on my uno for 1 week..they remain the only tyres I've ever managed to get a car travelling at 30 mph to swap ends on in dry weather. Stangely enough they were binned after that..

I've noticed the Lassas last for a very long time, but are LETHAL in the wet (dangerously terrible)

That observation there would have me getting rid of them asap.

It's hard to get none eco in 155/70 13s but even a Michelin E3A/B (which I had on all my fiats) is only 55 quid in that size, or Dunlop street response is about 45 quid. Not sure if they cost more in Ni. Eco tyres tend to be hard for life and economy..so don't grip worth a damn.

I always assumed the Panda under steered slightly in the wet due to its shape but after speaking to others with Lassa's and online reviews I realised it seems to be a top feature of them :-(

It's never going to be amazing on 155 section tyres with quite a basic suspension set up. My old punto 55s on Michelin E3bs used to still understeer, but if it did it was because I made it and it was predictable and would hold a straight line if it encountered deep water rather than changing lanes unasked.

A decent set of tyres should at least be predictable if not super grippy in that size.

No damage huh?

When I had new tyres fitted yesterday they noticed the wheel was buckled slightly. Not enough to need refurbishing but more than enough weights to balance for it to call the other wheels "Bra".

:bang:

No word from the Police as yet. I guess they'll wait until he hits someone head on.

(I appreciate they are incredibly busy and understand how prioritisation works a conversation with that Careless Driver today could save someone from a world of hurt tomorrow)

Tbh I don't know how bothered they'll be - they might go and have a chat at most, really doubt much would come of it sadly.
