It is registered yes...hence why I'm annoyed..we pick a pre reg car in October apparently..
Can you tell them no, you want a fresh one? Or is it on one of these PCP type deals? I guess with a PCP deal they can supply a 'used' car if they wish.

Did you agree to a used car? Because that is what a pre-registered car really is. As a used car, should get a substantial price drop. Make them squirm.
In all honesty not sure, thinking about it my wife will be the 1st name on the logbook so it is not going to be technically pre-registered even if it's sat at the dealer with plates on for 2 months..They have given us the reg number of the car so the registration process must have started(you would think) but as paper work won't be completed until October so the 1st used date on logbook should be October I think. Not sure to be honest it's the first time I've ever heard of a car arriving 8 weeks early rather than late!
Had it on a Renault years ago. They obviously needed to deliver that month to make their quota. I negotiated and got 12 months road tax, a full tank of fuel and a free oil and filter change at 1000 miles.

Dealers are allocated a range of reg numbers in small batches. So allocating one to your car is their decision, not necessarily an indication that they've registered it with DVLA, yet. However, they have to use the whole batch before they are allocated more, so there will be pressure to actually register it.
To register in your wife's name, they need insurance in her name. If you've not provided that, they cannot register it in her name. They can however register it in their name, so you need to ask, before your wife becomes the second owner.
My punto was delivered early.. waited a few weeks until new reg day.

My golf was registered with the Dvla about 3 weeks before September the 1st, was all ready to pick up and go 2 weeks before, but couldn't go due to not being allowed to be driven on the road till the 1st of September, so it's likely the car could well still be on a 67 plate.
The reg number is a 67 plate, they decided to get it for September the 1st. Tbf I don't care about the plate it's more the warranty actually being 3 years, and we'll now have a car that's sat on a back lot for some time.
Having said that the ds3 was factory order colour with options and despite waiting 4 months for one in the correct spec to be built, it was delivered when ready and it was still a dog so it's probably going to make no difference.

A relative of mine bought a "new" Hyundai i10 in late 2013.... not long after it had water in headlights, green growing on the window edges etc. I checked the VIN and the production date was around Feb'13 so imagine how long it had been sitting.. best of it is a much better i10 was just about to come out. The asses must have wanted rid of stock of the old model.

Yep it was, the dash was made from the plastic the wheelie bin factory didn't want and had all the power of an asthmatic hair dryer with a broken plug
I can specifically remember too being in it on a typical, but not too harsh wet day and the window demister making a pitifully small clear patch at the bottom of the windshield nowhere near good enough to see where we were going!
It's unreal that a car in this day and age could have been that bad and unshamed!

I wouldn't have one if my life depended on it. Never liked the horrid Korean krap.
Having come from 3 fiats then a Suzuki and had all sorts of hire cars/courtesy cars I'd always assumed that small petrol cars were just fun...that it was a function of light weight/limited grip and a free revving engine. Even the K12 Micra had It's own charm.
Then I drove a Mitsubishi Mirage..and realised no actually it was possible to make a truly horrible **** box out of a type of car I enjoy. I imagine the Suzuki Celerio, Vauxhall Viva, all those weird little things made for developing markets are similar. I might be wrong but to be honest it's not worth my time to find out.

£6 for a new wheel trim, £6 for an oil filter... £15.90 for shipping. Always like Shop4Parts but not sure I'll be ordering from them again as the N.I. postage is way too much
