What's made you grumpy today?

do you think the Care Quality Commission just googled it? :chin: http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/..._unless_they_have_a_genuine_emergency/?ref=mr

when a hospital is running like this mistakes are bound to happen.

All hospitals are run like this if you read the other news stories related to this, essentially more patients are visiting the A&E department than the hospital has capacity to cope with, this is why currently the government are throwing money at hospitals to help manage the demand on beds which always goes up this time of year,

Declaring a major incident allows them to invoke a set of procedures which allows them to free up more beds in the hospital and involve more resources to deal with and manage the situation, it's the same sort of situation they would invoke if there had been a major incident such as a train or plan crash with huge numbers of casualties to deal with. It means they can redirect patients to other hospitals as facilities and call in agencies to help clear beds quicker, it also allows them to make press requests to the public to only attend accident and emergency if it's a genuine accident or emergency, for all those folk who like to turn up with a cold or minor injury a gp or walking centre could deal with.

Normally if a hospital declared a major incident because they had bed flow issues there would be hell to pay, however in this case it looks like they've been cheeky and used the CQC inspection to back up the case that the hospital is at capacity and this has helped enforce the need for a majax, this isn't something that the CQC has made them do.

Looks like there where some bigger problems not publicised to begin with

Seems there were some issues on one of the wards regarding mistreatment of patients which added to the issue

you mean the sedating patients against their will?

That's managements fault too, like i said earlier when half the staff call in sick nothing is done, so no one can cope, the last 2 nights i've sat on a 4 bed bay of a ward as a visitor where 2 separate patients have had to be on a 1 to 1 as they kept climbing out of bed when they shouldn't, last nights was having blood tonight's was at risk of falls but bugger kept trying to stand up and walk to the bog.

The stroke unit shines out though they are excellent in there.

Any one spot my croma on the news? i parked in-front of one camera but haven't seen any tv today yet.

People at the vets...no I'm not going to release the rabbit so the blatantly badly trained dog you have can sick it...FFS really? That is your idea of a conversation starter? Would you hold your dog in the middle of the road so it can watch you being hit by my car?

That and he's had to be sedated...for the 5th time since we got him gets spurs on his back teeth like clockwork. Oh and someone brought 2 wild rabbits with mixi in while we were waiting.

What is going on with cyclists and these ultra high powered strobes they are strapping to the front of their bikes?

Vehicle lighting is governed by a set of rules but these high powered strobes on bikes are just damned annoying - when you're driving at night in a dark car & the only light you have is the soft glow from your dash - then suddenly you get one of these strobes right in your eyes!

They then find I give as good as I get as I move towards them like a moth to light. Although tbh most are ok, just the odd idiot pointing them directly into ones face :(

whats been giving me the grumps is the amount of fiat bashing thats going about... been trying to ignore it but starting to grit my teeth...

My grump of the year...

Catching someone cheating in a relationship without them knowing that you've caught them while they continue as if nothing has happened...(n)

The questions this brings... what if your wrong... etc:(

How would you react?

This will sound odd (from me? I know).

An alleged friend of mine was in a relationship with a girl I've known since I was little. I caught him on a date in a pub in the next town. So I walked up to him, kissed him on both cheeks and thanked him for the night before...

"I'm only now walking properly. Next time use more lube".

...the date called a disgusting swear word, threw her drink over him and left in a hurry. To this day he thinks it was just a prank.

A girl got run over outside school today. It was on a stretch that's a 40 mph limit which we have been campaigning to get reduced to 30. Council said not until there has been an accident :bang:I think she was OK. At least we can go back to the council now.
Oh, and the car involved......a BMW X5

Been there done that and got the tee shirt.

Only let them know when you're sure of your facts. So you may need to get more evidence first before you tell them/confront them/ask them.

It's not going to be an easy time whatever happens. (n) Decide what you want before saying anything. Do you want to continue the relationship even after the reveal (if there is enough evidence to do so). Can you live with the cheating if you decide to keep it to yourself?

Good luck, whichever way it goes.
