What's made you grumpy today?

Batty old lady hit the passenger door on my Alfa. Felt the car shake.

She started to drive away, so I blocked her off and looked at the door, thankfully no damage. She opens her window and shouts, "can I help you with something" well you just hit my car and you were about to drive off. "I didn't hit it, didn't see or feel anything, maybe your going mad"

I couldn't be bothered and as there was no damage just let it go, but she drove off revving the tits off it. Could feel the pain of th clutch.

Thinking back, I think she's a danger to other drivers and herself and I didn't get her details.

Had some mad woman nearly run me and my dad down yesterday on a zebra crossing. (we had to run clear)..... she got balked in traffic about 300 yards up the road and i got her reg number...

and one of those moments that dont usually happen occurred a very nice policeman rounded the corner and stopped when we flagged him down....

told him what happened he run the check on the reg number and set off after her....

Anyway continued walking home and van pulls up copper beaming from ear to ear... "we stopped the car in Howden, I cant tell you what's happened, but thank you very much for flagging me down" again with a big grin

as he was talking to us... about to leave sorry officer that Civic thats just gone past has no reg plate on the back...... "thanks!" off he goes to catch them :D

Andy, please don't start wearing your skiddies on the outside of your trousers

lol i might just go out in lycra :p

the First aider high viz tends to win respect too when you stop at accidents lol to the point the fire service shut the entire roundabout so I could go the wrong way round it and head home despite everyone else been shoved on a 20 mile diversion

Scenes from "hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" Wrong form, this is a green one, you need a white one... Back of the que. Wrong label you need this line to say blah... :bang: Do you have a Customs label...:bang:

Will try again tomorrow I guess. The company i'm returning the good to gave me this label to send it back, but it's no good(n)

Another 40 minute round walk to the post office. Given up trying to post via the people working there, went online instead. Click here, print and fill in this, this and this, stick onto the parcel like so... take parcel to local post office to have it scanned and a tracking number obtained (y)

Walk to post office feeling a little better.
"We're sorry sir but we cannot post this parcel with a service that does not exist"
"We know it's pre-paid but there is no service for sending this parcel to China for £14.95"
"Ok, ok, show me the parcel"
"Please place it in the glass room at the end, this is your tracking number"
The Receipt they have given me is for  I have no idea what, it's not what I Paid for:confused:

F-ing useless! If this parcel makes it there successfully it will be an act of ###

2 out of 2 parcels sent. 0 out of 2 been happy with their service(n)

Still don't know if my first parcel reached the insurers :( Their signed for is a joke :(

Might just fly my next parcel myself if this doesn't work and claim it on the Royal mail postal as compensation?

Wow they are expensive!
Royal Mail have quoted me £14.95 insured, signed and tracked.
They quoted £28! The price of two Dominos Pizzas!
I couldn't really understand what the woman was saying but I think all I need is a customs label to say it's not dangerous goods which I can print off their website...

they were cheap for me £32 to send some thing to the usa compared to £87.23 from royal mail:confused:

Yep, The online service which I used and paid for was the International Signed. this is tracked while it's in the UK showing when it's been posted and when it leaves the country (y)

However, the person at the post office was saying that there is no service that did this for £14.95. So although the online system charged me for this service with insured postage, 3 day delivery and signed for to China with UK tracking. she was saying they don't do this...

I suspect the problem same about because I couldn't understand her accent and she couldn't understand what I was saying either? (Not that i'm against employing non-English workers) Hopefully it will all be ok(y)

Well given International signed for is 5-7 days for China. What do you think you paid for?

Prices are here

I'll be honest. I cant see a price that tallys with £14.95 either?

Hmmm, the online order sheet says £14.95
Signed international with uk tracking, insured upto £250...

If you change the insurance to "up to £50" then I get the £12.45 price

Barclays, I've had a fixed rate mortgage with them for 3 years. It's coming to end, all the forecasts say interest rate rise at end of the year so trying to refix it and their giving me a decent rate. I could get lower but any savings would be lost in endless bloody fees. Anyway what is actually making me grumpy is being required to turn up with 3 forms of I.D. at a branch or send it in the post for both me and my other half. I'm not a new applicant, i already have a sodding mortgage with them, if I didn't want to refix my rate they wouldn't require any forms of I.D. to keep making the payments from my account.

Wouldn't be so bad if the other half didn't work shifts that basically cover all the opening hours of the bank and I have to do it in 5 days..

The whole benefit system in this bloody country. Don't get me wrong, some genuinely need it, but if I've learnt one thing it's not to bother saving anything for a rainy day! As soon as you become incapacitated etc then because you've done the right thing and worked hard and saved you'll have to spend it all on care rather than being able to spend it on what you want. Don't save it and you'll have nothing, so it'll all be handed out on a plate

My sister tried to get a little bit of help towards childcare. But she was already working - so wasn't eligible.

She's been in work most of her adult life (she's 25 with a 3 year old and a nearly 2 year old). To pay for childcare would have been more than she was earning. But she was earning too much for any benefits...so she had to come out of work.

Her plan is to go back to work as soon as the kids are in full time school. But until then, she hasn't got much choice but to be on benefits. The State isn't interested in helping those who WANT to work, only supporting scroungers.

It's a sad state of affairs.

Is there not a family member you can make a sneaky transfer too? ;)

Don't temp me, unfortunately its the sort of money that can't disappear. But hoping that if said family member needs to move into sheltered accommodation, that rental from his house should be enough to cover costs rather than selling. The small advantage of moving in 38 years ago, the area has become very sought after and affluent in the time they've lived there, so has been a rather good investment in itself which would see a very good rental return. It would saves selling it and the cash pot being eaten away.
