It's finally died then? :-(

Nope, starts first turn of the key still. No mechanical faults but need a welder for passenger floor pan but can't afford to buy and rental prices are around £100 a day around here :-/
It's been advertised for sale and no takers as of yet, I'm going back to uni accommodation so unless I can persuade my parents to keep it on their drive I need to get rid :-/

It's a shame they don't do welding at your Uni, when I was doing engineering most of our practicals were done on staff or student cars. :D

Where abouts are you? If you're local-ish and know what you're doing you can borrow my mig. If you don't know how to weld I can do it for you. :)

Awesome, I am in Chingford, London (E4) for the next 1 & 1/2 weeks...

Taking a page out of the old book, I could also "fill" the hole to pass the MOT then fix it next year when I'm back (and most likely to have binned the new car):p

Another grump.. :( The new car's horn has stopped working proving once again that the mk1 punto is more reliable than a new DS3... a suspected loose connection behind the steering wheel and airbag (n) something I don't really wanna touch. in addition to the paint issues which still worsen as Citroen think about repairing it again...

Because it's such a huge step up being top of the range luxury sport version and I love it when it works :p ...when it works... -_-
It's not quite standard either so I can't hand it back unless it goes bang, as far as I know... Or if the corrosion comes back significantly...

The damage:

Had gotten worse in the first few weeks but since slowed...

Ha Ha, not quite. This is the Punto.
The DS3 had corrosion on the Driver and Passenger doors, tailgate and more recently the roof; but Very small bubbles in small areas... Almost as if the E-coat had bubbles when applied and has just started to corrode, it's very odd.

Mrs has a whisper purple DS3 arriving in November hopefully we'll have more luck!

My grump...just a bit of light reading.

Edit: I give up it reads like it was written by mr miyagi with assistance from google translate and a bottle of saki. Engrish is alive and well..

How many pages?

Prius was about 750-800, and after getting half was through I realised 70% was warning messages and precautions for idiots. Only about 30 pages on useful Prius specific stuff thats different to other cars. So that'll be another 1k miles of eco prius driving to offset the carbon footprint for the pointless manual :p

Then get a letter recorded delivery 3 weeks after getting the car with a supplement for the manual with yet more warnings, for those with pace makers :ROFLMAO:

so even if some one buys a plug in for a taxi he will be safe as long as they don't plug it in with him in it?

Correct. Although I know the manual mentions something else about the keyless entry and pacemakers, and that they recommend it being deactivated for users with pacemakers, but TBH I suspect this would apply to any vehicle with keyless entry and not just Prius and if he's been fine to date not sure how much of an issue this would be?

Looking at the medical journals apparently some research was done into the risks of hybrid/electric cars interfering with pacemakers, obviously when you pull away on the electric motor a huge amount of electromagnetic fields (EMF) are present around the motor, the battery and the wiring between the two, it seems the study looked at numerous positions in the car and measured the amount of interference and concluded that the EMFs where not significant enough to cause problems with modern implantable devices, that said all this research was done using the Prius, and I suspect because electromagnetic fields were registered in all areas of the car in normal everyday use Toyota probably felt it was necessary to warn against it, this research has not been done in any other car so the Prius gets a bad rapp especially with regards to the keyless entry system and ignition which produces a lot of electromagnetic interference, essentially though research shows there is no issue probably Toyota being over cautious
