Alfa-gate day eight. He's not coming to collect the car today but now has insurance (got a uniformed colleague to verify this) and rail ticket to King's Lynn due to arrive tomorrow morning at half eight.

I'll be collecting him in the Fantasia, driving him here for the car and he can tax her at my local Post Office on the way home. :)

Pain in the cheeks and selling the car at a £150 loss.

Grrrrr!

Edited to add, the grumpy bit is as he hasn't turned up yet a bunch of eBay 4x4 bits for Project Peterborough will slip me by as I won't bid without the cash in my hand to buy them. :(

Direct debits take up to 10 days to clear, the banks issue if they've bounced it not your insurers, as you've said they went to get the money which is all they can do.

Customers. Specifically. ones who read something on a forum and take it as gospel. Take todays' muppet - we fitted a cambelt on his car last week and comes back saying something is catching since the job was done. We have a look, the gearbox is noisy. No it isn't says he, I read on a forum that it's probably the belt overtightened or the covers not fitted correctly. Well, i'm sorry matey, but the ever increasing pool of gearbox oil from the bell housing says otherwise. You bellend.

why didn't you advise him about noisy gearbox and oil coming out last week?

could have been BS as a stalling technique but suppose you'll never know

my eBay advert said:
Following this week's charades if the car makes reserve the winning bidder WILL be charged £50 per day storage from midnight after the auction ends to either the time the car is collected or this value exceeds the winning bid. At this point the debt WILL be sold to a recovery company and may effect your credit rating.

By bidding on this item you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

My apologies to all the genuine bidders and buyers out there but I have literally just wasted the only week I have off work a year waiting for someone to turn up tomorrow every day until the winning bidder decided not to buy instead. Annoyed doesn't cover it.

That should do it.
