What's made you grumpy today?

What's made you grumpy today?

Could you see properly that your intended path was clear? No.
Would you drive through a brick wall in the middle of the road just because it shouldn't be there? No.

You could've 100% avoided the stress and kerbed wheel there mate.

Just what I was thinking. You also couldn't see that it was clear, so you shouldn't have gone.

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

similar to Ziggy, last night I was driving home, having picked up my other half from work, driving on a long down hill stretch I could see what appeared to be a car on my side of the road, dazzled by head lights I was really struggling to judge what was going on and as I slowed to a virtual stop it became apparent this car was still very much on my side of the road and I was beginning to brace for a head on while eyeing up the curb height and any other options, In what seemed like the very last second the car pulled out of my way, immediately my anus un-puckered, looking back at the video it doesn't look as close or as slow, but i suspect this was the effect of the wide angle lens on the camera.

once he passed I saw it was a youngster in a 1.2 Punto, typical not driving to the abilities of the vehicle and not really necessary on a 40mph ring road.

Just wish i was in my car when i was overtaken by a chavved up "special" corsa he had tried for miles to get past me but couldn't compete with 2.0l 137bhp of ford Diesel power, Not that i was deliberately preventing him overtaking but he was no match on a twisty back road for something with nice grippy rubber and sporty suspension...... and i never went over the NSL......

Anyhow get balked on a double white line section by a transit connect doing 50mph  so young Oik decided he can now impress his mates with a illegal overtake :slayer: :tosser:

he does me and goes for the double with the connect as he gets level with it there was a HUGE cloud of black smoke from his exhaust and he then held us up at 30 mph for the next 3 miles me thinks something let go big style inside the poor three cylinder lot... Perhapse he was trying to recreate the Twin air engine of the 500 :chin:

back when i had my "costs too much to insure" 1.5 diesel corsa, i was on the allcorsa forum.. a few things i learned was that the 3cyl engine is an engine that does not like to be thrashed. there's literally hundreds of threads on there all relating to the horrid noise the cam chain makes / a snapped cam chain.. and (not stereotyping or anything here) 9 out of 10 of them had the lowering kit, blacked out windows, and different alloys.

besides the odd one or two members, it was a forum full of boy racers :/

anyway, yeah a lot of breakdown folk wont cover me as my car is older than 17 years.
those that do ONLY give brake down assistance.. then its extra to be towed anywhere, and more to be towed anywhere in the uk. it comes to a huge amount!
panda tech is so easy to fix i think pretty much anything is fixable by the road side.. given all the tools and spare parts i carry in the boot of my car lmao

You're doing it wrong, you get assistance for you as a person, not the vehicle. RAC do this, doesn't then matter the age of your main car, and means you're covered in any car, be it driver or passenger - very handy, and I certainly get my memberships worth out of them, normally use them 2-3 times a year :)

Winter tyres might have helped, damp and below 7C I suspect (n)
Dont help is speed bumps - there is a brief feel where you dont get a response
There also well known for greasy-sens thanks to wagons and buses sloshing there lovely stuff all over the road

Winters will be going on the front - when the currents are worn down
Probably will drive them through summer to wear them down

The camera see's and what i see is 2 different things
I saw the 3 cars( with lights on), and they had gone - wasn't till the 3rd one had gone that i realised there was a 4th hidden behind it without lights! Hence why i missed him
Sure yes there potatoe and tomato - that could change the situation,
Yes i was in the right, and yea i probably have gone a little slower etc etc

At the end of the day - all i've done is taken a chunk out the plastic trim, not to worried tbh.... they were free and i did them up but i've ruined them anyway

However the Lorry one that happened 40mins later is not my fault! and the red mist decended

EDIT
+1 to the dash camera video thread - I'll Put one up Now :) Will be nice to see what other people catch
I've got a litter bug if that helps

if you bank with Lloyds their select account used to give you AA cover as well as mobile phone insurance and a few other benefits for about £8 a month, some other banks give Green Flag cover so it might be worth seeing what your bank offers
