My SatNav - It nearly ended up flying out the window

it says turn right then bear right

So you do just that - you then find out following its instructions its not right :bang::bang:

At the roundabout take the 4th exit, i count 3 and then head for 4, wait thats Wrong AGAIN!

I must have gone around about 3 roundabouts about twice, gone up and down same roads about 3 times.... GRRR!!!

its not first time tomtoms have sorta been well crap to me :(

I tend to find that using any Sat Nav has to be done with a modicum of common sense. Unfortunately successive governments, incompetent education ministers and the rise in 'where theres blame etc' culture mean this is not taught to our young people in school.

The common sense factor is - follow the satnav, if i go wrong, dont dive for the correct exit, just follow the road and either let it re-route me (yeah right.....) or turn around and join back!

what dont help is where i was as well were 1 way systems..... i dunno how benny279 copes in the city....

i guess its one of the age old, i know my area okay, so i know whats what, but a stranger probably to my area suffers the same fate :(

Sorry the comment was a general comment on sat navs not on your particular story :). Its just your story gave me the chance to 'publish' it (y) I tend to have the sat nav on mute anyway and follow the map (I use 2D) as I find it easier to decipher.

common sense is not taught its an instinct, but it can be educated out of people, this is why you often find the more educated people are the less common sense they have.

after a while you get use to it, its like when you first move to a place everywhere is alien to you, then give it what? a few years you know whats what like the back of your hand:D but considering i use to live in a town many years ago:p

I take it you've got phone insurance then

What phone is it out of interest?

Ive got a Samsung Galaxy S3.

it slipped off a table and hit the corner, worse thing is i saw it all happen in slow motion and couldnt reach it in time.

Insured via my bank account (one of the benefits).
Anyone know how long Barclays takes for insurance to sort out? ive never claimed before. I called them up, i wating for an email with the claim form in so I can fil it in. They said the email can take 24 hours, then once they have recieved my claim ey will ask for th phone, once they have recieved that they aim for a 48 hour turnaround. How likely is that?

i use to be with barclays and used their benefits, but never for mobile, but when i had my tv covered with them, when it broke i put a claim in and they collected same day, and returned good as new 2-3 days later:) but that 48 hour turnaround is only an estimate and shouldnt be relied on,thats all i can say,

Can't decide if I'm gonna get tyres changed now or not...I've got the funds and I'm off work but all 4 tyres are about 1mm or more from the tread wear indicators so they'd happily last till September...but being contis they look shagged and one has a bit of metal sticking out of it which I'm not gonna pull out.

Decisions...might just wait till there's an offer on somewhere.

Pretty sure I shot myself in the foot at a job interview this morning :(

Oh well, at least I only had one awkward moment of complete brain freeze, still at least it's good practice and a boost to get an interview these days :)

Onwards!

Edit:

All this talk of insurance reminds me to check on the status of my claim!

Bah! no news from assessor company as yet :(
