Why should you get to watch them if you don't pay for them?

If I have to pay I won't watch them.

I'm annoyed that I'm blocked from accessing TPB and KAT, surely it should be up to me what I do with the internet connection I pay for.

Torrenting is out there and won't stop despite these measures.

BTW mum gets a free TV licence so I don't pay to watch TV. How is that different?

Because that is legal.

Because that is legal.

Ooops!

I thought it was ok for private use? A bit like recording programmes off the Telly, technically illegal but ok cos it was for home use?

Reminds me how a big fuss was made about people taping LP's, it was going to be the end of civilization etc etc.

What about me watching feature films etc, that people have posted to YouTube, is that illegal too?

I'm lost with all this stuff.

I had Netflix for a while but it has bugger all on it that I wanted to watch so I gave that up as a bad job.

Perhaps I should go fill me boots with 10p videos from the charity shops instead....

just reminded my self of a grump from a few weeks back, i was watching TV and a British farmer was showing his spring onions that were a good size but not all the same size so supermarkets rejected them so were left to rot, they looked nice like spring onions used to be.

now i go to the supermarket and all the spring onions are the same size but are soggy, tiny and tasteless imports from Egypt or Mexico. it makes no sense :bang:

Celestial Navigation. My lecturer has refused requests to give us a copy of his worked answers for the mock tests telling us to "have a little confidence in our navigation". We'd like to have a little more confidence and work out where the hell we keep going wrong!

Even more irritating is the way we're still being taught it - with a method that takes half an hour or more to calculate a fix...a fix that's already wrong. The US Navy have stopped teaching it - instead relying on GPS (yes, I know, they own that system - so they can introduce the Selective Availability for everyone but their armed forces and their allies - including the UK, and subsequently the ships I sail on).

Even the Royal Navy has reduced the depth to which they teach it. Yet again...the Merchant Navy is teaching its Cadets stuff that's massively out of date whilst skimming over the modern stuff we actually need to know.

Rant over...for now...

Hmm yes but when your on a life raft with naught but a sextant, a piece of paper and a biro it'll pass the time...

Also surely the maximum you can be out if it takes 30 mins is about 20 miles if Its a very fast boat....which is crap if your in close quarters but more than acceptable in the middle of the Atlantic! :p

got some strange stomach bug last night, was going from freezing cold to boiling hot and stuff coming out of both ends, first time ive had any thing like it for nearly 30 years :( not so bad today just got bum wee

At least with bum wee it flushes first time and no chance of blocking the toilet.

Downside is the toilet gets a coating, and you keep wiping until your arse is sore!
