What's made you grumpy today?

Ive been getting quotes of between £900-1100 all day, then get that one!! i thought Endsleigh were bad...

92 missed calls... clingy much??

or... what did you do?

You should be able to get it down to £750/£800 :D That'd be a really good quote.

Just had a massive row and then I went out and got drunk, left my phone at home on silent so she didn't bug me. Had a few laughs and I actually won at darts for once ;) Ended up stumbling home in the end, was drinking till 4 ish this morning. But yeah, she thought I was boinking some other girl... Sometimes I honestly wish that I would, but I just couldn't do it. :(

It started with waiting in until 2.pm for a contractor who didnt show up, which is also loss of income because when they say 'am appointment' I cant take a call from a client for fear that the doorbell will ring mid session ( I counsel abused women). So I cleared my dairy for the morning and waited.......

Then I find I have a headlamp bulb out and the tutorial says I need to take off the wheel and / or the bumper and cut my hands to bits and lay in the dirt and use tools and all sorts of other unpleasant stuff. Nice one Fiat:(

THEN, I realise that my neighbour has just lit the mother of all bonfires in his garden and the bedding from THREE beds is hanging on my line.

PS: My son who is 18 gets stupid car insurance quotes too, its an EXTRA £2000 to put him on MINE - getting his own is coming in at £7000 on a £700 1.2 Punto.

Oh yeah and the reason the contractor was coming was because there is an almighty crack in the brickwork down the back of my house - subsidence or something. :(
halfords say they will fit a bulb for £3.50 or some thing like that, not sure what they will do if you turn up in a car that needs to be half stripped.

how many doors your sons car got? 5 doors are cheaper than a 3 door to insure.
my daughter just got a Fiat Idea 1.4 16v and its £500 cheaper to insure than a 1.2 punto or stilo

It did cross my mind to go to Halfords, get to the till and have them offer to do it for me and say 'Sure! Knock yourself out' but they could end up damaging something so not sure if its a good idea.

The main issue we have with insurance here is the postcode, its a band E for insurance purposes, F being the highest. My 24 year old paid £2500 last year on his 1.8 Stilo, he was a new driver insuring for the first time. His younger brother is the one who cant get anything even close to reasonable.

Even I paid £700 last year for fully comp and I have 15 years no claims, a clean licence, I do less than 5000 miles a year, parked in the garden and Im 47. My friend who lives 50 miles up the road in Milton Keynes, same situation pays less than half of that on her Honda.

I will look into the 3 door versus 5 door thing, but he has been using the registration of a 5 door Punto I used to own to get these silly quotes, so I guess that means a 3 door one would be worse!

this one is special its got alloys and is colour coded. if his mates laugh he can say he is into classic cars because their value goes up not down

@ Dave I get your point and if it was me and the choice was have that or walk, then I would have that, which is what I did at the time. I also had three small kids and got the shopping in there. Makes me laugh when people have ONE baby and think they need to buy a people carrier. It suited my income at the time and it was a very reliable little car. He didnt mind being seen in it when he was 4 either;)

is this the son with the birthday coming up?

if it is please buy him a pair and wrap them up for him :ROFLMAO:

HAHA no thats Damien with the birthday coming up, he has the 1.8 Stilo with EVERYTHING - well everything except claws that is but we have some lined up now. You may remember him and the 'wonder car' from Brooklands.
