Styling What wheels

Styling What wheels

I have to say that's the only time I've ever actually found that the petals suited a 500. Looks good! :)

Here we go some photos (sorry about the quality)
They were new wheels and tyres so all I did was give them a good wax before i put them on so break dust and crap will not stick to them. I always do this and never have to use acid on my wheels to keep them clean.
I have driven about 20 miles on them and they feel great they are about the same over the bumps as the 16inch wheels but the Pirelli tyres give a lot more feel.
I love the way they look.

A set of new side skirts sold on the 22.06.11 for £30 on ebay:cry:. They would look nice. I've seen they fitted before on the standard 500 and they would look good on the black. Not keen on the the rest of the tack on bits but they can look pretty good on the 'metallic orangey bronze'. Tempting to go the full monty but I that would be going a step too far and would be difficult to re-instate.

The petals do look good.

Here is a picture of a stealth Black 500Ahhhhabarth for comparison.

I don't want to get side skirts or any other abarth stuff. I like the cleaner lines of the fiat.

Next It could be a backbox but I am still not sure on that but I think I will get it lowered.

Having driven the car again today for a few miles I can not believe how quiet it is now the pirelli tyres make it loads quieter inside the car

New tyres will always be quieter than worn tyres :)

Which brand tyres did you have on the bydiesel wheels - were they by any chance - Bridgestone ?

If everything is working fine - I would probably leave the springs for 'a different day'. The back ones seem pretty straighforward to change but the fronts one would need more work (spring compressor ?) and it might be best to change these with some decent shocks like the Konis although they are mad money but definitely worth it on a A500. I'd imagine someone should be able to recommend an economy 'performance' shock absorber if there is such a thing.

Yes they were Bridgestone.
I have lowered a few cars before, Its not that hard but I will probably pay someone to do it.
Here is my 1972 280s Mercedes that has been lowered (by me)

I have a ByDiesel as well and I have to say, in my opinion only, that the original wheels are much much better. CAn't help but feel you ruined the look.
Although I'm looking forward if you do go ahead with the wrap.....and the exhaust.

I did not go in to the dealer to by a by diesel but they had it in stock and it worked out cheaper getting it.
I think that having the diesel brand bits on the car is embarrassing, maybe if I was 19 I would think it was cool...but I am 38.
I have taken all of the nasty stick on plastic bits off the car and changed it to something that I like. I liked the by diesel wheels but fancied a change.
The only by diesel bits (that say diesel on them) that are left on the car are the seats and the gear knob. I will get around to changing the gear knob but will keep the seats.

Here you go have some 22 inch wheels..

Ian, I am surprised you have not removed the matt rubbing strips and bumper inserts, as this would make the lines cleaner (and get rid of what to my eye look like more "nasty stick on plastic bits").

Is that in the pipeline?

the side rubbing strips at not just stick on are they? I thought they were screwed on.
I was thinking about carbon fiber bumper strips

I don't know, but there must be a way to remove them (mustn't there?).

And you don't want to ask me about fake carbon fibre - you know my views on that...

Edit: or indeed real carbon fibre on a car that is not a genuine attempt at a lightweight.

Thats not fake carbon fiber

I think they can be removed but it will need to have the car in the bodyshop to fill in where the fixings were and then respray the doors. I don't really want to do that right now.

Why have you got what looks to be 22" wheels on the front and something like a 19" or 20" wheel on the back? :p
