Ive stripped the rear seats, carpet, trim etc out the back of my car and it needs some attention to tidy it up. eventually a 6 point cage will be going in.

Should i paint it: -
-Green (same as the car)
-White (got a thing for white plus should keep it cooler than the next option.
-satin/matt black

OR any other ideas?

As it stands :-

Hmmm, good one that !

Are you going for the full race look , or still some creature comfort ?

Satin black would be my choice for the roll cage, but really it's your choice. Whw not color code it to the existing paint.

As for the rest of your now gone interior, I would cover the rusty floor with some single ply carpet. At least it wil look beter and help absorb some noise. You could always use spray contact adheisive to stick the carpet down, and make access flaps where nessecerary
.

i agree with the above. satin matt rollcage, and some carpet. Unless some ICE is an option?

Planning on the full race look.
When i paint the interior i am going to repair the rust.

Dont really need any sound deadening as it isn't much louder as it is. and im getting a quiter exhaust soon anyway.

Dont really want to carpet it so paint is my only option really.

Not planning on having any ice. If i do all it will be is a 10" sub that i'll tuck away in a corner and make a fibre glass enclosure for.

I'm Warming to the idea of painting it green and having a matt black rollcage. but i was going to weld the cage in as aposed to just bolting it in so i dont know how id go about making a different coloured cage and interior (if thats what you can call it) match.

anyone else on here done a similar thing that youv'e got pics of to give me some insperation?

Cheers. Cal

Sort rust, spray green, polished (ie chrome) or black gage mmmmmm

i would fibreglass over the wholes where your rear side panels use to be and put speaker in em.

Fiat bravo 1.6sx
Modifications - window tints , alloys , blue leather interior, silver dashboard , meshed bumper , blue pedals and gearknob , blue footwell neons, clear side repeaters, custom fiat badges, blue LED fog lights, and soon (in post) Boo Vinyl!

Im thinking about taking that 'letterbox' section out that the rear seats used to rest on, so i wont need to fibreglass over it.

First things first I'll clean it all down strip out the random bits of tape and padding then strip dash seats etc out and spray the interior green then ill worry about a cage in a few months when ive got some more money. proberly do it black though, or possibly lacquer over the raw steel if it looks good.

Cheers. for the input.

Either demon tweeks.

Or i'll talk nicley to someone at work and see if they will do it for some beer money.

think andy_sx did some research and the alfa 145 cage fits in, could well be cheaper to buy pre designed than custom

re

demon tweeks used to list a half roll cage for HGT

but there is a place local to me make them up, caged or somethign in westbury i think.

Demon tweeks list a sparco 6-point cage for the bravo for £339.00 (with a 8week wait for delivery) i assume you have to wait for it to be made by sparco but they have the plans for one.

are you keeping the spare wheel? if not strip that out and use that for the sub box and fiberglass around it to make it enclosed. all the gaps in the doors etc fiberglass them too so it looks fairly neat remove random tacky **** and hide all wireing then spray it.

Work will commence again in a couple of weeks as im going on holiday next week so i'll keep you lot posted.

I'm splitting my time between doing the bravo and rebuilding an engine (that my dad wants finished so it's not taking as much room up in his garage!

And then there's my girlfreind complainging about my car saying ive wrecked it by taking the rear seats out because it looks scruffy.

And im moving away at the end of august so want to get the engine done by then because i dont think i'll be able to take that with me (renting a flat) but i'll still be able to work on my car down there.

LOL

Im gona keep the spare wheel for the time being was thinking about getting a fith aloy and putting it in there and getting rally style wheel harnesses to secure it down. but im not sure if im going to change my alloys at the moment so that ideas on hold.

have u noticed any difference in performance by doing this?

Haven't really been driving in a way that i'd feel a difference. Im not expecting anything though although what i have stripped out is fairly heavy!

I'll let you know when i do give it a blast sometime.

One thing i can report is that my freind did this to his cinq and said that because theres no weight it the back he found he lost the back end when cornering hard.

I havent had any of that but it is possibly something to do with my tyres (Toyo T1-S).

Shaun -
I think it is a bit faster now (on acceleration).

And also i am noticing that my fuel is lasting longer (either that or my fuel gauge is broken!)
