As for a shopping list.

36 high intensity blue LED's 5mm
Resistors (Think either 82R or 100R)
Some thin wire.

I connected them up in a series of 3.

If you are wanting to look like the RX8. There is no way you will ever get that bright from just the interior light (They choose the car that give the best look from the bulbs).

Best way would be to get some flexi Led strip lights. They are like neon bars but flat. What i'm doing next :)

@joske, Got email mate. Will reply now but may take some time so hold with me :)

Also, I had similar idea with rear light but was going to do all lights, rev light, fog light indicators. Looked at cost and was going to cost about £150 just in leds without all the work.

I think the reason the RX8 also looks as good as it does is because it has forward facing LEDs, using the LEDs from the sidelights on a Bravo 501s and also theres another courtesy light for rear passengers.

Like i said i will prob fit a Brava rear courtesy light and fit the LEDs in there aswell, this will produce alot more light then.

ok, got mine ordered, got 50 5mm High intensity bulbs with 50 resistors for £5 delivered, which i didnt think was too bad, i'll let you know how i get on, can you use the 5mm led's for the instrument lights? and the centre button console?

When you say instrument panel you mean Front and rear fogs light switches etc.

then yes, but only for the bit that says it is on. the icons that come on when you put the lights on are 3mm leds.

Non. They are this type but are designed around 5mm.

I used super bright but the link is for frosted. The frosted will give you a better look. You will need 4 for each dial, 1 if you have a digital speedo and 1 if you want to change the full beam (wouldn't recomment though 'cos it blinds you).

I change mine as I didn't like it when it did bright bit then dull bits due to the angle of the led view. Also I didn't like the needles as were really dull. The led wouldn't defuse through the red.

I have but standard bulbs back in and used blue lighting gel at the back. This way, you still get the red of the needles and if cut correctly, the red of the red line on rev etc etc.

cheers mate, do you have to remove the needles to do the dials?

Yes I did, Thats the unfortunate bit.

Very difficult to realign perfectly. I used a very small piece of tape to give me the position of the needle before I removed them. This will give you the closest position but still won't be perfect.

Good Luck with them mate :)

@Joske - Second email replied too :)

Im on my 2nd Brava (this one is an SX) and it doesn't have rear courtesy lights, looks like your going to have to look for ones from another car (maybe an Alfa Romeo 156)
