Getting my cambelt done this week as they put my engine back in...:)

What parts do i need?...i know about the belt and the tentioner...but is there anything else? (Don't want them to miss anything)

Oh...and Nige, can you get me whatever i need cheaper than Fiat?

Also...does anyone know how much it should roughly be for a clutch, as i assume it would be easier & cheaper to get it done now as the engine is out?...or can the clutch be changed with the engine in?

Thanks

Daz

Belt, tensioner, jockey wheel if it has one and alternator belt.

Hi Daz

Since yours is a 155 like mine, recommendation I've had from my garage (supported by those on here too) is to have the water pump replaced at the same time. Mines done 43K now so I'm saving up to have it all done at 48K.

I had my cambelt changed at about 60k. Whats the likely hood of my tentioner going??? And does my one have a jockey wheel? WTF is that btw Tom?

Technically the tensioner is also a jockey wheel :) Its simply a wheel that the belt goes around but does nothing else.

The tensioner is just a jockey wheel that you can move.

Oh, simple! So I could probably get away with not replacing the tensioner? Or not?

NO! It's the tensioner that is the weak point with the Bravo. You need to change it with the cambelt. False economy not to.

As per the above, is it worth replacing the water pump at the same time...(i thought that was a ford thing...lol)

Defnitely get the water pump changed. For the sake of a £30-40 pump, if it ever goes, you'll need the whole engine out again! That's alot of costly labour on an hgt!

I had the water pump changed on my 155 when I
had the cambelt done, as this didn't cost
alot extra, and if it does start to go wrong
it's a whole lot of money to get the engine
out again.

For peace of mind!

Just another quick question....does the engine have to come out for the clutch to be done?

Well as I have just had to pay out £1800 for a failure this is what I would recommend to be changed.
Cambelt
Cambelt Tensioner
Alternator Belt (auxilliary drive belt (does the power steering too I believe)
Auxilliary tensioner wheel (it was this that caused my failure) (£60ish I believe)
Water pump.

Try https://www.sapmotorparts.com/shop/english/ I got my waterpump from them, £22 +vat and del. Although they do only list one waterpump for all 20v Bravo's.

I'll find my bill when I get home and list all the parts, the cambelt, tensioner, alernator belt and aux tensioner were all Fiat parts, the waterpump was from SAP.

Thanks m8, it would be great if you could...

Ta. :)
