Thats great, at the moment I have a 205bhp 172cup, on motorway I am getting about 35mpg. Not to mention £800p/a to insure it and then as of next year my tax is going up to £270! :(

I see alot of people going from high powered cars to the Panda100HP, So I am assuming it is a sensible but fun progression. I have quite a heavy foot, but in recent times I seem to have eased off the pedal.

just make sure you have a decent drive before you buy, head for the worst roads locally. suspension is not every bodys cup of tea.
oh, it DOES not do speed humps or raised ramps, been down to camden town a few times, if i moved back to the smoke it would be outed, trust me.

I have H&R coilovers on my cup and it's lowered about 20mm, so as you can imagine the ride isn't ideal. I cannot see the panda being any worse than that. And all the roads have just been resurfaced up my part.

:D fine...just use roads that have been resurfaced...:p

The thing I love about the Panda is it captures the essence of the high-powered cars (the noise, the go-kart handling, the feel and the sensation of speed) without all the downsides of high-insurance, a drink problem, comedy servicing and running costs and the risk of being car-jacked.

I run with my climate on all the time as it cycles it in and out as needed and doing a steady 70 in 6th, it's easy to hit early 40's, with mid-40's being possible if there aren't too many hills.

If you like getting to your destination as quickly as possible (;)) then the worst I've seen recently is 34.4mpg. Car was serviced on Friday so we'll see if anything changes with a clean air filter and fresh oil... :D

Yep cheers Chris, Fun is my main priority here, I have had a fair few high performance cars, but Iam unable to use them, so whats the point. I used to go to alot of trackdays, Santapod runs ect, I am a family man now and have no intention to do it anymore.

Only around town. Been proven that when your upto speed on the motorway, the A/C / Climate uses no more fuel as the engine is already ticking over fast enough. It's around town it drinks your fuel. Trying to find the link of where I read this.....

Although it does depend on the outside temperature and the amount of work it's having to do. The advantage of climate is that it has some intelligence and once the cabin is at temperature it can switch itself off and then cut in every so often to maintain it. With regular air con, it'll be on all the time unless you switch it off and do the job of the climate control :D

Chris

I remember someone saying that it's more economical to use the aircon on the motorway as opposed to having the windows open (more air resistance, less aerodynamic, more fuel used to maintain speed).

I'm getting 35mpg with Sport and the A/C on, which isn't that bad as I only got 41mpg out of my Active. If people here knew how to drive on 3 laners I'd leave Sport off but theres still a lot of stop/start acceleration because of people sitting in the middle lane at 100km/h.

Just run 185m at 70ish, 85% A1, AC off, filled up and reset trip at start, car has recorded 46mpg, normally 36mpg Knocking about, 1st run car has had and well chuffed...(16000m)

If the air con is on full whack (as I like it chilly) you can feel the difference when it cuts in and out even at 90mph. I occasionally reach over and switch the air con off if I want a burst at max acceleration.

In my personal experience, it doesn't make a lot of difference at all to mpg whether I have it on or off - but my driving style and pattens might not be the same as those of others.
