General What is this thing near exhaust?

Hi, today I maxed the AC to cool down my Evo's interior before driving off the sunny street and noticed quite loud rattling. I looked under the car and saw this metal piece (red square around it on the pic) rattling near the exhaust. Is this bent piece as it's supposed to be? Thanks.

Probably the floorpan alloy heatshield
( save exhaust heat cooking the boot floor... or fuel tank)

They were factory fitted with big alloy rivets

These come loose and drop down.. my panda did this at @10 years old

In a UK climate.. on a panda shopping car.. I never refitted it..

Hi there, it most definitely is a heat shield that has come loose and dropped down.
