Hello

So I changed my Bosch super 4 yesterday for a new set, and where can i find a guide on what the spark plug condition means? It was black and perhaps a bit oily...and the porcelain thingy itself was getting a bit discolored brown close to the bolt itself...hmmm

Champion website I think.

Spark plug colour is not that accurate as you will always be slowing down and stopping the car before switching off the engine. The sparkplugs will only ever indicate what the engine is doing at idle. (unless something is very wrong and the plug has melted)

Ideally the insulator should be brown. Dry and black is also quite normal. (ignoring the idiots around here who keep asking how to stop their cars running rich when only making 5 min trips) Wet and black can be an indication of oil fouling.

Re: Re: What does the sparkplug say...

Ok I havent tried running it with the new ones but i guess the old ones could be a bit wasted because i ran them in the 2 months when my car was not starting, and staring bad, and then crazy in idle etc...

With your car it will always be running rich at idle so you can't tell ANYTHING from the pulgs.
